Santiago de Chile 1:12,500 Street Map & Central Chile 1:720,000 Travel Map Map – Folded Map, May 2, 2011

It is hard or impossible to find hard copy maps anymore. The ones available are usually years old, but that didn't matter for my purposes. I stayed in Santiago for a few days before and a few days after a trip to Antarctica. For planning, I like to have a bigger view than what I can see on my phone or print off on a piece of typing paper, so I was happy to find this map and found it very useful for organizing my visit. I am speaking from the point of view of someone who walked or used a taxi -- didn't use it for driving around.

While the map has almost all historical and tourist locations as well as all the metro stops, the street index leaves something to be desired. Some streets that begin with the letter P and many streets that begin with the letter R are missing from the index. The street index jumps from PUE DE LAS CLARAS to RIVAS (EST CENTRAL). You will need a digital map app to supplement this folding map. In addition to locations of all metro stops on the larger map there is a smaller metro map for easy use in congested quarters.

I needed a road map and this is not it. Only a couple major highways were numbered.But it was able to manuever from place to place in Chile using this map and photos of the route mapquested on myiPad.

We rented a car in Santiago and drove to vineyards to the South. It was very useful in the city and finding our way South.

Great detail on streets, one-way direction, and landmarks. Negatives were that paper could have been better quality. Crease line ripped almost immediately. In index a chunk of street names were missing. Was this map a "second"?

Just about wore this map out while we were in Santiago. Found it indispensable. It does not extend to the airport, but hop in a cab for that trip. We used public transportation for everything except the trip to & from the airport.

While the detail and colors are good, the map crease tore upon first opening the map. I am currently using a commercial map sealant trying to rescue this map. The paper this map is printed on is like tissue paper. Perhaps it is recycled paper. In any case, this is my first and last time buying a map from this particular company. Save your money, find a another map company.

Nice detail, but this map tears apart after only a few refoldings. Choose a map with a more durable paper format.

Der Stadtplan zeigt eine Signatur mit 11.95 Peso - ich denke, dass sagt alles! Das sind nicht einmal 5 Euro-Cent ....!!!Das Papier bricht nach zwei-dreinmal Ausfalten, und das ganze Ding ist völlig unintelligent "konstruiert". Eben ein Stadtplan zum einmaligen Hineinschauen in der Touristeninformation und dann wegwerfen.

Me fue útil para caminar y conocer el centro de Santiago de Chile, no es un mapa de toda la ciudad. Es un mapa turistico para moverse por el centro.

War definitiv ein Fehlkauf! Das mir wichtigste Viertel, Quinta Normal, sieht man fast gar nicht.Tut mir leid, kann ich nicht weiter empfehlen.

the map's eastern side is missing a large part of Santiago, which is the main area we were interested in.
