The setup is a little complicated it. But with the video, the labeled parts, and the included instruction manual (I used both the video and the manual), it is easy to follow the steps to insert the washers and screws in the right places. The main arm has three possible levels, depending on where you insert the screws. The middle setting seems fine for most situations. I have just started using the tray, but I can tell that it will hold up much better than the plastic tray I had been using for the last several years, which gradually sagged more and more until finally it broke. The Vivo tray seems to handle normal downward pressure much better. So I agree with reviewers who say that it is sturdy. The device seems very well crafted. UPDATE: Every day I appreciate this device more. I wish that the surface were a little longer or that there were an extendible arm that could bring the pad closer to my chair. But maybe this would impair the stability. I put a book on the pad (and a mouse pad on the book) to lengthen the surface.

Read some reviews about the difficulty of assembling, but the instructions were clear and it took about 15 min. to install with just a screwdriver needed (and scissors to open the clearly-marked plastic pockets). One reviewer indicated that rotating the clamp was "painful," and I used a towel to facilitate the grip. The product is wood and metal, sturdier than other's plastic, and works as intended to use the mouse closer to the body without overextending the shoulder. Rotating the mouse tray after use is practical.

The Vivo clamp-on mouse pad arrived in a sturdy package. I found my unit to be made of quality components--the pad itself and the hardware. I am 100% happy with it. However, here is what the video doesn't show at all, and what the user's manual doesn't explain until pg. 6--the clamp screw has two nuts (for you to tighten things up). The thumb unit (to tighten the pad) is on that screw, and it is incredibly tight. It's really best to find some way to loosen it up before you start assembling the unit. That thumb screw is tight enough that some users have resorted to using a vicegrip (best protect it with scrap cloth or something to avoid damaging it). Once you find that you can move that thumb nut without too much difficulty, you can go ahead and watch the video. The rest is easy enough, if you follow the directions. One last tip: The upper clamp allows you to choose 3 heights for the pad. The middle one works for most people, but you can lower/ raise with the two other options. Nice unit, but the directions need to be more user-friendly.

Excellent! Very stable and solid in use. The clamping screw and release nut knob mechanism is very well designed. Stays put when tightened, and a quarter turn of the release nut knob lets you swing the unit back under the desktop. Very cool. I developed a rotator cuff injury so I needed my mouse to be lower than my desk for pain relief.

Simple to put together. Very heavy duty materials, and very sturdy when attached to my desk.

I ordered this to help with a desk that is slightly higher than I want it to be and too high end to be putting bolts into for using a mouse. The instructions were perfect and easy to understand and everything fit together the way it should. I appreciate not needing an allen wrench or torx bit for the screws and the whole process is almost tool free but 3 screws to put the whole thing together is amazing. The mouse pad rotates as well while staying securely in place. I will be buying this for my office at work now that I know it works well at home.

So admittedly, I have taken a while to put together this mouse pad holder. I was totally overwhelmed by all of the parts and instructions, but it was easy once I sat down and made time for it. However, there is a single part (S – A) with two screws in the pouch, and they sent me two different screws - one which works, and one which does not. Since their policy is you have only 30 days to report an issue with their product, I guess I’m out of luck. Frankly, had I gotten around to installing this within 30 days I would have probably just returned it to Amazon for the hassle of calling them. When I called, it was suggested I go to the local hardware store to purchase the correct screw, and they did tell me the correct type of screw. Given the terrible customer support that I have experienced, I cannot in good conscience recommend this product. If you do get it, make sure you put it together before their 30 days is up so you can address any manufacturing issues from this Company. I believe strongly in holding companies accountable and ensuring they stand behind their products, and VIVO did not do that in this case.

I had no issues hooking it to my keyboard tray and I love how I can fold it in. When I push my keyboard tray in. It suits my needs. I don't regret getting it.

A nice sturdy product that looks and works well. My computer desk didn't have enough room on the tray for both the keyboard and mouse, this is a perfect solution.

Very high quality product and easy to install. Even though my table has metal frame, I can still install and it feels very solid too!

Superb quality, very sturdy. I bought three of these, one as intended, a mouse mat, and two I reversed and used as shelves above my desk, one to hold an Avantone mixcube speaker, which is heavy and the other my audio interface in my studio. All work brilliantly. Like I said this is well made from wood and a steel bracket. Cheers
