SHRM CP Exam Prep 2022-2023: SHRM Certification Study Guide Book with 3 Practice Tests [3rd Edition]

Great at covering most relevant info. Concise and easy to read. I read it cover to cover and took all 3 practice exams. The explanations were well written as to why 1 choice was better than the others. It was the only study material I used 1 month before my exam date. I just got the official certificate that I passed so I can give this book 5 stars. Definitely recommend if you're preparing for the exam. Better than the pricey, offical materials SHRM sells.

I've been reading this SHRM test prep textbook and it has been extremely easy to follow and understand.The author provides test taking strategies, resources (DVD or online videos, and discount for test prep classes. Additionally, the author also suggest different timelines you can use to ultimately take the test (I'll ve using the 30 day one).I hope he has a PMP test booklet as well.

This book is updated for the latest test and the practice questions were very in line with what k saw on test day.My only complaint is there were a few theories or terms on the test that weren’t in this book at all, but I gather outside of the official SHRM study guide this is common as they keep stuff secret that only their guides have.Either way I was very prepared for nearly all of the topics and style of questions. I’d tell someone they could rely on just this book and their work experience/knowledge.

I used this as my only material to study for the SHRM-CP and I passed. I only wish that they had an index or a more detailed table of contents to better locate information. The information could be organized a little better, but overall it served its purpose.

I used this book to primarily study for my SHRM-CP exam and passed on my first attempt. The content was incredibly helpful and aligned well with a lot of the content on the exam. The practice test questions were very similar in difficulty to those on the actual exam and the answer explanations were also great. I would recommend this book to help anyone looking to prepare for the exam!

A little bit about me, I’m new to HR, 1.5 yrs in so when I decided I wanted to get certified, I was a little scared. But I used this and the newer version (almost identical contents) along with the flash cards they sell and I passed the exam on my first try. Their material really helped me in grasping all the concepts in a simple way. The style of questions were very similar what I saw on the exam too. If you put time into reading the 120ish pages of material, and review the flash cards and take all the practice tests, I think it’s very possible to pass just using their material. I did.

This product was labeled as a resource to help prep for the 2022-2023 SHRM - CP. Exam Unfortunately, only parts of the book were updated to reflect the most current SHRM information. This book still references the SHRM BoCK (which is now the SHRM BASK). On pg 8 it mentions that there are 8 behavioral competencies, when there are now 9. The author seems to have known about this change seeing as they listed Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion under the leadership category on that same page --unfortunately with their poor choice in grammar it appears to just be an extension of the ethics category on that page, despite being listed separately on page 21. Note, while having listed Diversity, Equity and Inclusion as a 9th competency, they also left it as a 15th (there are now only 14) area of functional knowledge. Page 8 also lists Critical Evaluation as a competency. I am not sure why they did not update it there, as it is updated to Analytical Aptitude on pg 49. It seems that if more time had been taken to ensure consistency throughout and double check that all warranted updates were made, this could have been a good resource. Unfortunately, due to it's inconsistencies, this book is instead confusing and frustrating. I can't trust the context, or relevancy of the tests, as portions of this book are out of date and thus wrong. Therefore I would NOT recommend this as a guide for anyone studying for the current SHRM CP exam. If the author could not 100% ensure that the information in this guide would be relevant throughout all of 2022 and 2023, he should not have advertised this book as a resource for those wishing to test during either of those years.

I just took my shrm cp and passed it 2 hours. I attribute it in great part to this book. Although I studied and passed all my shrm learning system tests, I found that the questions in this book are more challenging and there for help you hone in on the items you need to work on. Most of the info you study will not be in the exam, the trick is to learn to answer the questions from SHRM'S perspective not yours. Buy it, it really helped me. These practice tests was all I did the week of the test. Always think "how would they want me to answer".
