I can't tell you about the Hudson float. I purchased two in the last couple of weeks for Rubbermaid stock tanks. The brackets are poorly made to be fitted properly and not built tough enough. Two floats, four brackets in two weeks. These brackets need to be redesigned.

Hudson equipment works perfectly right out of the box, every time.

I’d like to say I like this product, but it’s for the Hudson valve (which has been a piece of crap!). I Wanted it to put on my Rubbermaid brand cattle trough, as it makes the valve sit far to r down in the trough so if the trough is slightly unlevel, the water doesn’t run out one end. I had to use a jigsaw and cut the lip of the trough, and it was an easy fix for the bracket. If the valve had worked, I’d have been happy with this purchase. Going to get a fitting to put on the end and will see if I can hook a regular float valve up to it.
