Great Effective Product, Well Designed & Easy to Use
Mice moved into double Garage after a storm blew the side door open, which had not been closed properly.Followed previous review advice, by using gloves to keep my own scent off the traps. I then baited these with some cut up pieces of medium cheddar cheese and some cashew, raisin & cranberry mix I already had in the pantry.Within a few days the traps effortlessly caught 11 X mice so far and this continues. All of the mice were then simply released bar one, which seemed to die of shock or stress (nothing to do with the trap itself).Great product at a good price on offer with a discount voucher for 2 X traps. The manufacturing seems sturdy and hard enough wearing for large mice in my case.Tip re placing bait:- be careful when setting trap in position on the ground, watching that none of the placed bait falls or slides back under the tilting platform that sets off the trap door. On on occasion I hadn't realised some cheese and pieces of nuts had fallen under the tilting platform. These then prevented the tilting platform from operating properly and normally springing the trap door to catch the mice. On that one occasion, the mice entering that particular trap had a great feed and were able to clean out the trap without being locked within it. However, this was my fault entirely when placing the trap and therefore user error only, not the trap malfunctioning.I also note in various reviews that some users also suggest not washing the trap out inbetween catches to retain the smell of the other mice previously caught, which will aid others to come into the trap. This is good advice, but from a practical point of view, the mouse urine and defication deposits will build up to such a large degree that this is not a practical option. Therefore in reality you will have to wash out the trap after a number of catches or at least after every 2-3 of catches per trap.Overall this is a great and effective product. Very easy to use, including the placing of bait, setting & locking the trap and also in later unlocking and releasing the trap door to humanely release the mice after being trapped. All in all, a highly recommended item from this user!

Works well
We used this for a rat problem at home. We used it with the paste and it was efficient at catching the rats which we released away from the home. It’s easy to set and release the rats with this product

Rodent trap
Needed some humane traps as saw a couple of rats eating the birdseed, these are great as they are easy to use and can see through them, so I wasn't worrying something was trapped inside when not opening them to check. Like that I got 2 for use in different areas of the garden. I caught a mouse quite quickly, so who knew it looks like I had more intruders than I thought. Or maybe it was a junior rat, anyway it did the job!

Not working
I find it difficult to get the rodent to go right into the back of the trap. It takes time to figure this out

Gotta be honest, these are GOOD traps
Used for mice invasion. I get best results by adding a small chunk of Mars Bar or Snickers, some caramel scented mouse bait spray and, just to be certain, some dried mixed fruit and nuts. The most important thing though is to get your first mouse. IF you can, try to get your first mouse into every trap because that living mouse smell and it's urine will make the trap more effective. If you can't because they will try to jump out, wait for each trap to get its first mouse and you will see a raise in catch rate afterwards, especially if the mice are from the same nest. Keep YOUR scent off it by using gloves. My dog gets upset at normal mouse traps and especially if they misfire (we all hate that) but she's satisfied that we collect the mice then dump them a few miles away. She's a sensitive soul. These traps are far more effective than snap traps. You will need a DEEP bin to collect the mice in over the course of the day because they can jump really high. You'll also need a lid with air, preferably transparent to see if one is crawling around the inside of the lip and who will get out when you open it to add another mouse. They can do that pretty easily and will watch for the lid being opened ready to jump out. (Smart little things.) I keep the bin of mice near the traps so free mice still hear living mice in the area and that catches you more mice. (If you use this method, throw in a layer of tissue they can sleep in so you're not essentially torturing them by keeping them in a bin for the day.)With restaurants closed near us in 2021 the mice have all moved into our homes as their regular eating spots are closed. Since they are making me sick, my best option is these traps. They're worth the one off expense and the metal plates keep them from chewing their way out.Make sure they can't access any other food source when you bait the traps and vacuum often. If you are feeling chest pains because of the mice it could be costochondritis from inflammation of the chest, as in my case. These will also save you from illness from hidden, rotting mouse bodies if you use even pet safe poison (which, to be honest, isn't that effective anyway).Misfired snap traps are upsetting and unsafe for pets or children in the area. There's no unnecessary pain with these humane ones. Just don't release the mice near your home or anyone else's or they'll just come back to "their home". A few miles away is best, preferably over 3 miles because they'll be able to smell home and return if you drop them off closer than that. If you plan to euthanize, these traps are still more effective than snap traps.I've even caught two mice in one trap at the same time so these work very well. There is a tiny gap at the hatch end when closed but it's less than 5mm so the mice can't get out, although I've seen some try. I've even caught some young mouse kits so they apparently keep even the young, small ones from escaping.Hope that helps anyone else dealing with mice right now.

Not sensitive enough for small rodents.
Installed a camera after hearing movement in the loft. Had used a humane trap previously but I couldn’t find it so I ordered this one as it looked perfect and would catch anything large too! After hearing noise in the night I watched the camera footage back. The mouse loved the peanut butter… so much so it came back for 3 or 4 more courses. The pressure sensitive pad didn’t work once.I have now glued two 5p coins to the pad in the hope that the extra weight will close the door. Unfortunately it’s still to be tested as the mouse appears to have moved on

Great for wandering pets!
I got this to try and catch my escaped hamster. After 5 days on the run and starting to lose hope that we would see our hamster again I decided to try one of these. A spoonful of peanut butter and 12 hours later we had her back! Easy to set up, sturdy enough to work. The size allowed us to safely capture our pet. Good value for money as these came in a twin pack and allowed us to double our chances! Hamsters now addicted to peanut butter though!
