At first I was super leary and thought that I was going to have to buy another knife way sooner than not. The knife was super sharp right out of the box/sheath. The sheath itself is well crafted and hold up well. However the button strap to hold the knife in has to be in a place that is rather inconvenient ams compromises the durability of the sheath itself. Back to the knife itself. Please understand that I work fine dining high volume and run a profesional hot hot line. Pictures will follow if allowed after this is posted. The handle is super comfortable, at least for my smaller hands. Also very well built. It's held up to a lot of heat and constant up and down on the cutting board. Never has it been in a dishwasher! The blade stays pretty damn sharp. I can ALMOST get paper thin cuts of steak, or even tomatoes. Maybe it's because I cook 100 or so steaks aside from sandwiches and salads, but I do find myself using my steel much more often than ide like to. I've used this knife to make cuts from simple bread slicing (if it's sharp it cuts a Baggett like butter), to chopping vegetables and butchering smaller bones. Fish cuts, and technical meat cuts like in tar tar. I've set it to a stone 2 times for a total of 5 min in the 3 months I've had it. It's been knocked onto the floor 2 times and it's held up like an old school Tonka truck. It is a little on the heavy side and took a couple weeks to get used to. Not to mention learning how to use the angles this specific blade offers. And it's totally how well the user knows the cuts, given that it has something like a 2° bevel. Don't expect the lower half of the steel to stay pretty as it WILL gain character if it is the black blade. 17 years in a kitchen and this is the first Dalestrong I've really used and the first I've owned. I'm quite impressed thus far. Enough that I'm going to purchase a couple more styles I'm the wolf series. All in all, it was a killer good investment!

I got this to replace my old chef's knife and can say this is lethally sharp, which makes it a joy to use for cutting literally anything, and with precision. So far I've not cut myself using it!. The sheath it comes with is also very smart for storage.

Tener cuidado con el cintillo del seguro en la funda, si no tienen cuidado, lo pueden cortar al sacar el cuchillo pues tiende a doblarse en la posición de cerrado

Bought as a gift for my fiancé. He has large hands and he absolutely loves this knife. It’s very lightweight and chops everything with ease. I am thinking of replacing my own knife myself now. Love the leather case it comes with as well. 5 stars!!! Well made beautiful knife!

Gave this to my husband for his birthday. He just used it and said he liked it. I liked that the handle had some colour and was not just plain.
