I would definitely recommend this strop. I was having trouble keeping a consistent edge on some of my larger carving tools due to the slim nature of most strops that come with them. I decided to get this one because of the width and I’m glad I did. This thing with the included compounds did the trick. Not only does it look great, but it’s very sturdy. I don’t feel like I’m going to break it when I use it. The leather seems to be very good quality too. All in all I’d say if you’re looking for a good strop for a great price, this is the one.

Well-crafted product and easy to use. This is my second one, not due to any defect or premature wear, but simply because the original was "confiscated" by a member of the family. Highly recommend, great results on my blades.

This is a large size with a solid wood base and good leather. This is the one you want to put a razors edge on your blades. I use this to put shaving sharp edges on my hatchets and short handled axes. It keeps my chef's knife too sharp :)

Nice, uniform, and flat leather. Gets the job done. I can't speak for the included conpund as I use my own emulsions though.

Amazing product. My knife with HRC66 did not work well with the ceramic hogging rod. But this leather strop brought my knife back to its optimal shape.

I am always surprised when I get a high quality product via the internet. In many ways, this is a simple tool, a flat paddle of wood with uniform pieces of leather glued to either side. On the other hand, it is a complex object, the grip has to be comfortable, the two wide faces of the paddle have to be flat, the wood stable, and the pieces of leather have to be of uniform thickness, unblemished, and flat. Hutsels Leather Strop more than satisfies all three of th sets of criteria that I listed. Only time will tell if the wood is stable, but I am familiar enough with wood to anticipate it will perform well. This is an excellent product that I would buy again.

This review is for the Hutsuls 3x9" wooden strop. It is used for fine edge polishing of your knives. It is a solid piece of ashwood covered on two sides with leather with one side being smooth and the other unfinished like a typical belt but thinner. I believe the leather will last a long time and if you did manage to wear it out its easy enough to get a piece of leather or old belt to replace it. The handle is comfortable to hold and the weight is nice though you'd use this on a flat surface so not really noticeable. The ash wood is sanded smooth, but otherwise appears unfinished so I may get some stain for it as it's pretty plain looking. The package also included two small brick polishing compounds - standard green and a finer white which are applied to completely cover the leather. Quite a nice strop and I'm sure I will get many years of use with it.

Really love this strop, well made, well packed and high quality. The Hutsuls team did an awesome job! Would recommend to anyone looking for razor sharp tools!

Super quality strop for finishing off your sharpened knives from sharp, to razor sharp. Just a few strokes on the strop and all grittiness has gone on the blade, leading to a super smooth cut. It doesn’t matter how hard you work sharpening on a wet stone / oil stone etc, without a good hone, they will never be truly sharp and smooth cutting. This product really polishes the blade to a super high finish, and can be used to maintain the blade between sharpening. I don’t know how I managed without this in my kitchen and on my pocket knives.
