Great Chisel
This works great for breaking away old tile and concrete.

Great for removing tile and thinset, but don't use it continuously or you'll wear out your SDS rotary hammer!
If you're removing tile and only have an SDS rotary hammer at your disposal, this is a great tool to have, as long as you're aware of the limitations (of the tool, not really of the chisel bit). This thing makes quick work of tile and thinset. It works a lot better than a standard chisel bit due to the angle. I think I would prefer a wider chisel end, but that might be a bit much for a standard SDS rotary hammer. The thing to watch out for is chipping with an SDS rotary hammer is VERY hard on the rubber end piece. If you use it for more than a few minutes continously the rubber will get so hot it will start to melt. You have to use it for 2-3 minutes, let it rest for several minutes, and then go at it for 2-3 more minutes. This is a limitation of the SDS rotary hammers and not of the bit. I was able to remove ~50 sq. ft. of tile and thinset within 2 hours pretty easily, but if you have more than 100 square feet of tile to remove, you really should rent a larger rotary hammer than an SDS.Overall I was pretty impressed with this tool. It was very easy and quick to remove thinset pretty cleanly.

Quality, Durable Chipping Bit
Great chisel for a light duty chipping hammer for tile removal and other surface removal. I am using in on a DEWALT D25213K, and this is the widest head chisel you will want to use with this drill or similar drill. This class of chipping hammer just wont have enough impacting force for anything larger.I recently used this bit to remove about 80 square feet of tile. After finishing the work, the chisel looks like its barely been used. Definitely upper end of quality and durability. Other cheaper bits from HF or similar would have worn greatly on a task like this and probably would be slightly bent. This Dewalt bit looks nearly brand new. Amazing!Bottom line, if you want a quality, durable chiseling bit for tile removal and similar tasks, this is the about the best out there. Again, if you are using a lighter duty chipping hammer like the DEWALT D25213K, this is the widest you will want to go. A 2" wide bit needs to be paired with a medium or heavy duty chipping hammer.

Chisel This
No reviews and It deserves one. I'm no contractor, just a home owner. I purchased this Bit to be attached to my Bosch Bulldog SDS Hammer Drill. My job at hand is to take down a block wall fence, re-use what i can salvage and re-do the Fence from ground up. Each block is 6X8X16 applied with mortar mix cement. As far as this Bit is concern, it performed as advertised with no problems at all. I was carving up cement right out of the blocks like carving turkey. I was able to Break the blocks right out of the cement joints with no problem. The Tip is somewhat sharp but did not dull. The 8 Inch length with 1 1/2" Tip is perfect.I then used the tip to hammer out any existing cement that was on the block so i can re-use them. Its perfect when your hammering out edges with this bit. Definitely beats a hammer and a chisel. If you want to seperate bricks/blocks from cement. This will do the job.I can't comment for other applications since this is all i used it for. I did use this for over 100 blocks including hammering out the stuck cement on each block.I would recommend. As far as durability, well with the job i finished, not a bent on the shaft or nick on the teeth when completed.

Does a good job
I bought a Makita Hammer Drill and Dewalt scaling chisel bit for various projects involving repairs and maintenance of concrete structures around my house. I had no previous experience with hammer drill or chisel tool but I have done many DYI's around the house to be able to handle this new tool in my collection. I used this recently to strip the cement/stucco patches from the steps in front of my house using this tool. It took nearly 4 hours to completely strip all the cement coating from 5 raisers. In my opinion, it would have been a very tough job without this tool. I have summarized the pros and cons of this chisel below.Pros. Amazon's best price and fast shipping. Inexpensive but made of rugged tool steel with Dewalt brand (but made in China!) Fits all 1/2" SDS chucks of Makita, Dewalt, Bosch tools. The chisel is hard enough on rather softer materials like briks, stucco and other synthetic surfaces such as epoxy composites. The cons. Dulls quicky on hard concrete or mortar. However it can be sharpened with a grinding wheel making sure not to overheat the cutting edges as this will destroy the hardness of the tool steel. I had to sharpen this tool at least 5 times during my work. All in all I am satisfied with the quality of the tool for it seems cost effective for my intended use. However if I am looking for a high quality chisel, I would go for the rather expensive (>$125) carbide tool.

Faster than I thought
This with my Dewalt SDS 1 inch hammer drill in hammer mode works really fast and indeed faster than I thought. Sure the tip does round off a bit on the business end but it did not seem to slow down the effectiveness by much. I was able to have some control in peeling the surface of a footing ( old concrete) to put a 4 inch bevel on the edge. Not super pretty but it does get me close enough to use a diamond grinder for final surfacing.

Good chipping chisel. Does the job well.
Good chipping chisel. Could come with a slightly better honed edge. Works well for tile demolition.
