Q: what is the length of the "one size fits all" cuff on the blood pressure monitor?

The cuff size is very large. It wrapped around my arm three times, causing an incorrect reading. I had to return it.

Q: I'm a bodybuilder. at the doctor's office they usually have to switch to the xl arm wrap to check my blood pressure. will this one work for me?

My mom (a nurse for >30 years) & SO (EMT & paramedic for 10 years, PA in ERs & family practice for 15 years) say yes, cuff size certainly does affect BP results & no, if you're very muscular (or obese, have lymphedema, etc.) a one-size-fits-small cuff will probably give inaccurate results. 2005 guidelines by AAFP recommend a 16 × 36 cm (large adult) cuff for arm circumference 35-44 cm, & 16 × 42 cm (thigh) cuff for arms 45-52 cm around. I've found that *many* BP checks in doctor's offices are inaccurate because of poor procedure, quite aside from cuff size (Google 'correct BP procedure'). I can only suggest getting your BP checked in several *medical* settings, from old-time practitioners who learned on manual cuffs if possible. (Older volunteers who do BP checks at hospitals & small health fairs are often great. :-)

There are the monitors with 2 cuffs - regular and wide.Search for those. This one is regular.Happy holidays!

Q: Does it signal you in anyway when the batteries are low?

Yes, mine just gave me a low battery alert and would not take a reading. I replaced the 4 AAA batteries and it is working fine again.
