The book provides a well-organized and comprehensive treatment of biology basics. The diagrams are nicely laid out and informative. Highly recommended.

A good book e every house should have

Great way to understand the basics of Biology. Wish it went a little more in detail, but I guess it would be a college biology book then.

For someone who has not had biology classes for many years, it is a clear overview of how bodies work from the macro side of cell function, reproduction, waste removal, genetics, the mutation of cells, and the diseases that can be caused by mutated cells. There is more covered, but that gives an idea of what a reader is going to get. For me, I am learning a lot, and I consider it well worth the time and effort.

I needed a nice overview of biology to provide context as I discuss the topic with my high-school son. This book does a great job of bringing the overall field into a comprehensible primer, and I learned a lot. I appreciate the skillful use of analogies (proteins as worker robots) and enjoy the levity used in the book. I know how hard it is to make technical material accessible, and I think that the author did well. I would encourage Amazon to provide the X-ray feature for this title to aid in the construction of flash cards.

The book was what I was looking for. I am looking forward to using it to study. My complaint is when you buy a new book you expect it to be in perfect condition. Mine was not. Apparently it wasn’t packaged well because the front cover was folded down in the corner and now it has a crease that looks like it will rip at any moment. Just not what I expected when I ordered this book new.

Easy to read.

Kein inhaltlicher Mangel - sondern physisch, ich geb's auf, das hier zu kaufen: Seitlich bzw oben eingekerbte Seiten / schräge Kratzer über die Seiten hinweg, Knicks, Eselsohren, beim Austauschexemplar irgend n Schmutz drauf, riecht komisch. Neu ist das nicht, zum Verschenken erst recht nicht.

Perfect book for anyone interested and little to no education in biology, easy to read and follow along, great book.

Never studied biology before, and honestly, I was a little skeptical on buying a book to learn by myself. Great one! Very clear and well written. I would recommend it to anyone wanting to learn some Biology.
