Gourmet Basics by MikasaFlip Adjustable Fruit Storage Basket, 2-Tier, Black

I downsized from a big house to a smaller apartment. The kitchen has a lot less space than the house's kitchen. I had this whole tower of fruit baskets at the house. When I saw this, it is basically a mini version of that (with fewer baskets). I really like the way fruit keeps and looks in this style basket so I went for this one.It took a few minutes to put together, and it was ready to go. It is small, so it doesn't take up a whole lot of counter space and it's taller than wide which is also a bonus for small space, but it's large enough that the fruit is obvious when you're looking for a snack and might be chosen before something less healthy. I have to say it worked, since two of my family ate fruit out of it within an hour of me filling it (and they'll go weeks without eating fruit!) The baskets filled held: 4 bananas and 3 oranges in the top basket; and 6 peaches and 4 bananas in the bottom. I probably could have put a few tomatoes or kiwis in there if I had them, but not much more. It looks really nice, decorative even, with the various colors of fruit.

The media could not be loaded.  We always have random fruit, squash, sweet potatoes, etc. on the counter. Although we have a basket for fruit, it always seems to be filled up. I ordered this to make a home for all of these items that are rolling around on the counters.Over the decades, I have had a few different baskets. They have all served their purpose, but all of them were generally poor quality, very thin materials, and would break easily.I have to say, this one is an exception. I hope you can see from the pictures just how robust the frame is. Honestly, it feels a bit over-engineered for what it is, but that's sooo nice. The baskets swing freely on the frame they are made of thicker stock as well. All of it is finished very nicely.One small nit is that when I put it together, the rod that needs to be placed through the channel that holds the top and bottom pieces together wouldn't go through easily. Had to fuss for a few minutes to get the channel aligned just right and then also provide a little more encouragement to the rod. Once it went through, all was fine.Very nice unit and now my squash and sweet potatoes have a home.

My first and most important comment in this review is how sturdy and well made this set is! I wasn’t expecting it to have much weight to it but it does. It makes it harder to tip over when clumsy hands grad from it. You have the option of stacking them on top of one another or side by side so it fits any and all spaces. The baskets hang on hooks and are easy to put on and remove. We currently have fruits in the top and baby bibs in the bottom. It’s cleared up so much counter space. The value in my opinion is great. You get what you pay for and I think this is a very well made product for what the current cost is ($43ish). We will use this for years. It would also work great in a bathroom for storage too by the way! We may get a second one when we remodel our bathroom in fact.

Finally something cute to put on my kitchen counter and store my fruits and veggies. Easy to assemble and doesn’t take up too much space.

This storage basket provided me with the perfect solution to free up some kitchen counter space.It is extremely well made, solid, and will easily last a lifetime. I was able to place the storage basket in a location in my kitchen that was vacant, and in return, my kitchen counter appears much less cluttered, as I am able to put all my fresh fruit and vegetables in the baskets, and it is visually appealing too.The quality and appearance exceeded my expectations, and if kitchen space is an issue, I would highly recommend considering investing in this item, you will never have to replace this one, but, I am considering in purchasing another one for my office at home.

This item was purchased to hold onions on our kitchen island. It works well for that, since the baskets are angle and make for easy access. The baskets and stand are VERY sturdy.

I actually decided to try this not for fruits, but to put my dog's toys so she can just grab what she wants and play. Unfortunately, it is very small for any other purpose than holding and ripening fruit unless you have a lot of small things that need a place to go.I like that it can either be assembled vertically, horizontally, or just use one basket at a time if you want. Like other Mikasa items, you can expect quality and this delivers exactly the same. I also like the tilting feature of the baskets that sit on hooks rather than being welded in one place allowing for easy cleaning assembly/disassembly.

So disappointed TWICE. The first one came in, and I was so excited. It had so much potential, but unfortunately, the two frames that hold the baskets did not align properly which prevented the "catch mechanism" from securing the top frame to the bottom one. I sent it back and requested a replacement. The replacement arrived and this time the pieces that the long screw is supposed to fit it didn't properly align and even if they did, it wouldn't have mattered because the one welded on, scratched hollow piece didn't even allow enough room for the screw to pass through it to meet up with the other two hollow pieces. Again, SO DISAPPOINTED. Had this been made properly, it would have been beautiful.
