It does, exactly, what it is supposed to do - it heats plastic and allows you to bend it.It appears well built and seems like it should last several years.It takes a few minutes to get up to steam, so to speak, but it does the job.I shot the element with my laser thermometer and the elements seems to run around 450 degrees Fahrenheit. As such, and as elsewhere suggested, it's a good idea to flip the piece for even heat on both sides. The thicker the material, the more important this is.

I use this to heat up holsters to bend them for sight clearance from the gun mold.
