MSI does it again.... Best CARD EVER!
*Update* After owning this card for almost 2 years now, I'm still using it to run every game I play. I haven't had one issue yet with this card, and it still outperforms most cars on the market. Obviously it cant do Nvidia's RTX technology, but the performance gal is so small, I'll stick this this one for a while. Such a great product! All I can say, is that this card was money well spent. Every game I've ran so far ran like butter at the highest settings. (For Honor, Resident Evil 7, Witcher 3) There shouldn't be a review less than 5 stars. The reviews that had a lesser rating were based on the reviewer's discontent with the price a "Third Party Seller" was trying to scalp this card for. If you're patient and wait for Amazon to have this in stock, it will only be $749.99. Ok.. back to the actual review. This card runs quiet and cool. I was actually worried at first because the fans will not spin unless the card hits a certain temperature, which in itself is awesome. I never thought I would see a graphics card run at 28 degrees C with 0 fan speed. At this stage, I have not attempted an overclock because I haven't needed to. Unless you're just trying to achieve a high benchmark score, there really is no necessity to overclock. MSI is an amazing company, and I see why they're the world leader in certain categories. If you're able to get this card, get it. You won't be disappointed.

A cult classic
I use this for my secondary computer, it's pretty good for older titles that aren't as graphic intense. The video quality is good, the size is smaller than modern GPU's which can be good or bad. It's very easy to install. You can find better in terms of value for money now. But I do love the graphics card.

This card is amazing! GTX 1080 TI Duke
So, after years of not having a gaming PC, I built one for about $900. The GPU was a 1050ti 4gb and so far I have been happy. Well, I wanted to upgrade my GPU mainly because I want to play VR. My worry was that this card would be to big because like an idiot, I bought a micro ATX motherboard and put it in a mid tower size case. Anyways, this DUKE 11GB 1080ti arrived and fit into the motherboard nice and snuggly, thank you baby jesus. The card actually extends past the motherboard about 2 1/2 inches which I find funny. There is barely any sag, if any at all. I don't notice but just to be careful, I bought a GPU support bracket. Anyways, I ran my benchmark online and this card absolutely crushes it. It idles at around 29-30 Celsius and I have played all new games and recent releases on ultra/high settings. The card maybe gets up to 65 Celsuis at max according to MSI Afterburner. The cost of the card was high(Paid $1100), but I had the money and it was worth it. This is my rig setup. I waiting on my new i7 to arrive and I am switching to NVME. I may swap out the motherboard completely but I do not want to go through all that work right now. - Intel Core i5-8600K 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor - Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler - MSI Z370M MORTAR Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard - Corsair Vengeance LPX 32 GB (4 x 8 GB) DDR4-2400 Memory - Samsung 860 Evo 500 GB 2.5" Solid State Drive - Phanteks Eclipse P400 ATX Mid Tower Case - EVGA SuperNOVA G3 750 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply

Never buy a graphics card from newegg!
I went through literal hell with newegg as i bought a gigabyte GPU with coil whine and they wouldn't exchange it for another brand and all i could get was a 450$ gift card even though i paid 510$, because it was bundled with a video game i didn't even want. I filed a dispute with paypal and after 3 weeks nothing happened so i used the gift card + my own money to buy a monitor - well the monitor came and didn't even turn on, and newegg suspended by account for the dispute, so i basically got scammed 60$+450$+125$ extra for the monitor. I've talked to paypal so many times but the way newegg charges things seperately i couldn't get them to understand. then newegg said through dispute that i could get 125$ back if i shipped the monitor back. OMG i hate them so much. Sniped this card for 728.99 and it has been working great. MSI is the best, no coilwhine and the fans are quality with little to no noise. Never buying a gigabyte product ever again (been burned by their motherboards in the past as well) and i'm never buying anything from newegg again either!! I duke it out I duke it out I duke it out I duke it out I duke it out I duke it out I duke it out I duke it out I duke it out I duke it out HA-DUKE-N!!!!

Overall good custom board for the Geforce 1080ti - just beware ...
Overall good custom board for the Geforce 1080ti - just beware the fumes! When getting a video card, there are either reference coolers / boards and custom ones. This is a custom one with several differences from the reference cooler. Pros: - quiet operation - fans stop spinning below a certain temperature - no coil whine - keeps the board cool - have not noticed any temps above 70C even when stress testing - double slot (many custom boards are triple slot) - price (YMMV) - I paid only $20 more than the reference cooler which is not bad for a board of this quality - LED - if you are into that thing - more port variety. This has 2 HDMI, 2 DP and 1 DVI port. Reference has 1 HDMI and 3 DP ports. Cons: - does have a burnt plastic odor that a couple others made note of. It made me quite nauseous and I had to keep a window open. Was only noticeable when card was stress like when playing games. After about a month, it is starting to burn off. - it is huge! both higher vertically and length wise. Make sure your case can fit this as it is substantially larger than the reference. - blows hot air into case - most aftermarket coolers do this so make sure your case can handle the additional heat - almost no accessories included. Note: - Uses two 8 pin power connectors vs one 6 pin and one 8 pin. A con in that you need to make sure your power supply has this available. A pro in that you may be able to overclock better with the greater power supplied. I dinged it one star for the foul odor. Almost returned it just due to the fumes. But now that they are gone, it is a great card in all other aspects.

MSI GTX 1080 Ti Duke
I’ve noticed amazon bunches a lot of computer parts together and the reviews get confusing because of this. This is for the GTX 1080 Ti Duke. It’s awesome. MSI Afterburner makes overclocking easy to get the most out of the card. I haven’t had any performance issues at all with the card. It’s fun to laugh at recommended system requirements for games and crank everything up to ultra settings. My only complaint is that I can’t get any software to work that changes the color of the Duke LED on the card. It’s pretty quiet, but you can definitely hear it when it’s working hard. Even when overclocked, the three fans do a great job at keeping it cool. I haven’t seen the temp get above 70C. It’s BIG. I have a Corsair spec-02 mid tower and it barely fit. I would recommend putting this in a full size tower. It also has some sag going on as you can see from my picture. If I ever move it or take it anywhere I take the card out because of how heavy it is. I know this isn’t specific to the Duke, but it’s good to know. Here’s a couple games I tested the FPS on at mostly the highest settings. Some of the games aren’t well optimized and I had to compensate. All at 1080p because I don’t have a $500 monitor...yet. Doom: Vulkan engine, full ultra/nightmare settings: 200 ARK: Epic settings, ground clutter reduced to 25%: 60-90 PUBG: Ultra settings, post processing medium and motion blur off: 100-144 Total War: Warhammer II: everything maxed: 60 All other games on my PC right now are FPS locked at 60. Some games are inexplicably demanding, like Warhammer II. It’s not a particularly good looking game. It’s an RTS so I don’t know why I can only get 60FPS. It doesn’t seem to be locked since it goes up to 70 sometimes. Weird. Final thoughts: I got this for $750. I got it because the price was right and it’s the same chip set as any other 1080 Ti anyway. Totally worth it. Performs just as well as my brother’s who has a different manufacturers 1080 Ti. **Make sure you take the clear protective stickers off the hubs on the fans. My rig: Intel Quad Core i7-7700k (LGA 1151 slot) MSI GTX 1080 Ti Duke 16gb 2133MHz RAM Gigabyte Z270X Ultra Gaming Motherboard Pictures to show white Duke LED that I can’t figure out how to change, size reference, and comparison to a 1050 Ti.

Goodbye for a while, AMD...
I waited 8 months for AMD Vega to release, and finally admitted to being an AMD fanboy. My last Nvidia card was...probably an original Geforce MX. But the Vega drop finally made me cross over. That said, here be the impressions of someone who is not Nvidia loyal, just looking for the best performance per buck. 1) First, HEED the warnings about the size of this card. If you buy a new card every couple of years and notice that the images are not quite conveying the size of new gen GPUs, measure your case for this thing. To call it large does not do it justice. Even if you clear the distance to your case front, remember cabling. The only negative thing I can say about this card so far is that it is indeed so large, that in thermal terms, your case will henceforth be divided into two parts: the part north of the video card and the part south of it. 2) Temperature and noise are exceptional. I'm struggling to hear it over normal 120mm case fans even at full load. My case is pretty breezy, but I haven't exceeded 70C yet. I'm definitely impressed by that, and at least it justifies the Duke's otherwise-absurd cooler size. 3) What can you say about performance that hasn't already been said? Unless you're coming from a GTX 1080, expect 50 to 100 percent frame rate increases in most of your games. I purchased this with the expectation of not even needing to think about a new GPU until Navi or later, and if you're thinking of buying a card to keep for years, look no further. 4) Overall, the price to performance is about perfect with the Duke. You don't pay an extra hundred or more for a handful of mhz, but you still get 25 to 35 percent better performance than the next best video card on the market. Now sure, you do pay more than 25 percent for the jump, but consider it this way: that extra money you do pay allows you to cross a line. Below that line, you can play most anything now at 1080 or better. Above it, with this card, you can play at 4k, usually at ultra settings, and you can rest easy that you won't actually *need a new video card until 8k (inevitably) breaks into the scene. Long story short, if you have the cash and Vega was a disappointment, this is your card.

I'm glad I made this decision regardless
This is priced steep but I think its for a reason. I was waiting for VEGA to keep everything I have basically AMD, but the launch was a flop I was expecting VEGA 64 to be competitive with the 1080ti but that is not the case. I'm glad I made this decision regardless. This card tears through everything you throw at it. I have so far been able to run everything at 4k 60 frames, at ultra and very high settings. The price for this particular card I feel is fair compared to similar 1080ti cards. I cannot figure out how to change the "DUKE" RGB lighting but I'm happy with the with white for the time being. The NVIDIA drivers work so much better than those on team red. I have to say for now on I'll b e sticking with NVIDIA cards and AMD processers. It is a nice change from the Gaming X card as far as aesthetics are concerned. If you want and inexpensive 1080ti I think this is the way to go. Plus MSI is awesome!
