What's important that I found it on Amazon and price just right for me.
So delicious. A step above white rice. Black grain has a nice full body chew.

No Directions, But Delicious When Properly Cooked
This black rice (a.k.a. "forbidden rice") from Italy lacks instructions on how to cook it, and an online search makes things confusing since measurements and methods vary. Since I had cooked another brand of black rice in my rice cooker, I went with that method and some guesswork. I used the brown rice setting -- I had no idea which setting I had used before -- and it cooked up perfectly. The downside of using a rice cooker is that black rice is a lot messier than either white or brown rice since it bubbles up with a purple hue. Rising the rice beforehand helps minimize it, but it doesn't prevent it. I would have rather cooked it on the stove. The result, as I cooked it, was delicious. Black rice is healthier than white rice, and it makes a dramatic visual effect in a rice bowl. The flavor is somewhat nutty, and the grains separate well. I wish I knew the water to rice ratio and the approximate timing for stovetop absorption cooking (not boiling.) If the box had provided that, I might have given this rice five stars. -- Debbie Lee Wesselmann

tastes very good
This black rice is very hard to find. ive only found it on here. i think its better than white rice, Unfortunately the carbs are the same about 35 g not good if your watching what you eat for type 2 diabetes. It has a nutty flavor to it. I have a rice maker so it comes out perfect every time

Great flavor easy to cook
This rice is good by itself or mixed with white rice (if you are looking for purple rice). Can be cooked easily in a rice cooker or instapot. No problems cooking on the stove. Even easy to cook in a microwave rice cooker, 22 minutes and perfect rice. Taste is great. Good value and very healthy.

Not a fan
Maybe I did not prepare the rice correctly but I was not a fan and my family was not either.

I used it to get me kids to clean
Of course tiktok made me do it! I got this rice and scattered it here and there in my kids rooms and made them think it was mouse poop. It worked like a charm! You only need a small bit of the bag but totally worth it!

New rice to try
We've had many different types of rice, but have never had black rice itself. Everyone in our family loves rice of many types. It was interesting to read about this rice which got ahold of our interest. The box of rice itself is very small, seems well suited to a smaller family or a family that only eats rice once or twice a week. Upon opening the box, seeing the black rice grains was interesting. Unfortunately, there were any instructions on how to cook this. Since we have cooked brown rice and other types of rice often, we figured this rice would take some time. We washed the rice and set it in a pot. Added extra water, more than we normally would, just in case. We also figured the texture would be more crunchy, along the lines of a wild rice. Once we thought it was done. we removed it from the stove and gave it a good stir. By itself, the rice is nutty and somewhat crunchy/chewy. We served this with a chicken dish and vegetables. Overall, it went well. The next time we cooked it, we decided to add some minced garlic and mushrooms to add more moisture and flavor. This went great with some garlic vegetables chicken parmesan.
