Just what I needed for DIY lathe projects. I can choose a grit, cut a strip, return to sanding my workpiece, and make quick changes to finer grits. My first try on a hard wood sanded efficiently, dropping dust without clogging the grit, easy steps down to slick finish. I have not tried with metal, but the durability on wood makes me confident. I think this convenient assortment of emery cloth will find a permanent place on my workbench.

Very good sandpaper for pen making and other projects where strips are used, however keep a pair of scissors handy as you are not going to be able to tear it (Emory clothe backing instead of paper).

If you solder or braze, this product is an absolute necessity. Cleaning prior to soldering or brazing is always needed and this variety pack let's you choose what type emery cloth you need from fine to coarse. I can imagine using the different variety on any metal i work with from copper to brass to bronze to aluminum to steel and more.

Poor 'dispenser', it would be better to remove the rolls and make your own holder/dispenser. The rolls come rubber banded inside box, and the box must be completely disassembled to get access for passing the ends of the cloth through the narrow slot. The dividers separating the rolls are slotted cardboard and will fall out of place while trying to unroll the cloth. It took fifteen minutes just to get this product ready for use. The emery cloth itself is okay, just nothing great nor lousy. I would suggest buying rolls of cloth without dispenser, and then "roll your own" mountable dispenser. Sold as a convenience this dispensing roll set falls short.
