50 miles with a HT radio.
Very pleased with the construction and functionality of the antenna! Really does improve range.

Works great, but manual needs to add a section for tuning
Very easy to setup, weighs almost nothing. This antenna would be nice for POTA/SOTA on UHF. I actually bought this mostly to get me into a nearby GMRS repeater. I am on the backside of a a hill blocking most of the signal. With good coax I could hear the repeater just fine, occasionally kerchunk it but no one wants to talk with someone they can barely hear. I tried with a N9Taxlabs slimjim, Tram 1126, Tram 1173. With the extra directivity this was finally able to get me onto the GMRS repeater which is about 20 miles from my QTH with full quieting.Biggest hangup is the manual isnt written perfectly doesnt go into tuning. To tune you slide the gamma match (see close up) up and down and tighten with an allen wrench. The bandwidth seems a bit wider than what I expected so it should be pretty easy to re tune for the amateur band or other purposes in this area of the bands.

Amazing clarity at distance!
I'm giving this 4 out of 5 only because it wasn't clear in the title that this is a directional antenna. That being said, the antenna works really well. I was about 5 miles away and it was like talking to them 5 feet away. It was easy to set up and great value for the money. I ended up keeping it even though I didn't know it was directional.

Excellent Build- Excellent tuning
I bought this antenna to use as a Vertical to use with a 433mhz Gate Opener. I needed to boost the 433 signal that was limited to 800 feet Line of Sight under power lines. Metal in close proximity (such as a metal mast does affect the tuning To tune there is an adjustible block that induces signal onto the radiator .If you mount the block at the end of the shrink tubing it will be near 433mhz and be quite low to 425mhz.the best way to fine tune is in-situ mounted on a 1.5 inch PVC Mast at the height you'd like to use.then use a tuner to adjust the tuning block. I suggest building the antenna on you kitchen table. This antenna has 2 tiny set screws and 3 Phillips screws to secure the aluminum Reflector, Director and Radiator Elements to the Square frame. Make sure the Screws are tight keeping the Radials tight. There should be no movement of any parts of this antenna. The instructions are good. It has a potential Gain of 9 decibels. a 3 decibel gain doubles the signal size. The Vertical Beam With is 45 degrees which is excellent - Not too narrow. If tuning is critical you will accomplish 1.4 SWR but you will need to tune IN-SITU with the cable employed for you use. 50 ohm cable is best. RG-6 will work but the SWR may be higher. Point the Antenna in the transmitter direction and secure to mast before testing. The use of a Comet or other antenna analyzer 433mhz capable meter is suggested for the most accuracy. If the gain is not enough , consider the 11DB Gain version of this antenna. This antenna will Transmit and Receive with most Remote 433mhz Remote Control, 70cm Ham Radio, GRMS and Weather Radio. Receivers 400-470mhz See specs for details.
