Rio Beach MyCanopy Personal Chair Sun Shade, Navy

This is a wonderful product and works great to block the sun. Easily snaps onto a beach chair, and the quality is very good. I recommend.

UPDATE: (2023) Still using my original shade on my Tommy Bahama chair.Still works,slightly faded from the hot sun here,but withstands high winds and provides solid shade.STILL very happy with it.Provides better shade than an umbrella as far as getting any sunburn,probably because it’s closer to your head and face than an umbrella.So if you have sensitive skin on your face or chest,use this under your umbrella for extra protection.Better than a hat,no itchy scalp,no sweaty head, great air flow.I’m a long time beach sitter,and this is my most valued possession. 2020:Fit on my Tommy bahama chair perfect,however,my husband who is tall,6’3....it wouldn’t quite go up high enough because of the lay down bar on the chair.This is excellent in wind,doesn’t budge.Just snaps on the fabric covered aluminum chair tubing as shown in photos.I bought a back up for guests I love it so much.We go to watch the high surf and whales and it’s nice to not have to lug down the umbrellas etc. I use both this and an umbrella on warm Hawaiian summer days.GREAT product,I was NOT paid or compensated for a review,just a person who loves this.

The shade itself is light but well made, it functions well from folding up to pulling down and shading your whole face. It has a nice large arc so you don’t feel claustrophobic. It also comes in a decent zip case. However, the design of the attachment grippers to the chair is not the best. After one use it can easily slip off the chair so you have to gingerly mount it in place and operate it carefully or it might fall off. I’ll probably wrap some Velcro straps around the mounts to better secure them to the chair. Other than that it’s a very nice sun visor and I like it.

We love these! We have beach umbrellas and a canopy but these are the best when you want to sit surfside or not drag out the rest. They flex so you can rotate front to back for some or as little shade as you want. Easy to snap on and easy to carry.

We usually take an umbrella to the beach but don't want to lug it to the ocean's edge when we want to sit with our feet in the water vs. sitting up on the sand. This fits the bill perfectly - for its size, it surprisingly keeps the sun off most of the top of your body - it will not cover your legs but for what we want it for, it's fine. eventually we'll get sick of moving the chair back or forward as the tide comes in or goes out, and retreat back to our full coverage umbrella. Great little addition to our beach day - fits on the chair, doesn't need to be taken off, and doesn't add that much weight that you'd say "forget it". We do have a "flying nun" look, but who cares, we love it.

These, by far, are the best beach chair shade attachment on the market. I have tried a variety of other types from clip on umbrellas to other odd finds. The nice thing about these chairs is that you can also hang a towel over it to provide even more shade. One downside, there is no coverage for leg/knee area so apply lots of sunscreen otherwise you might cook like popcorn. There is little to no noticeable difference between the silver vs. blue shades. On the downside, these pop off easily if not using them for Rio chairs, making it a bit irritating when you are trying to relax at the beach. Since we use these on Tommy Bahama chairs, one modification I did was to the bottom black clip-on part on each side... I drilled a small hole, then slide a zip tie through to permanently attach it to the chair. The really nice part about doing this... when you fold up the chair, you can fold up the shade too... and still use the chair as a backpack without the shade interfering at all. Overall, I recommend this if you pay no more than $15-16 dollars. I really wish there was a product more similar to a camping chair canopy that covers more of your body with shade. Anyway.. enjoy!

I loved this product. It protected me from the sun when I wanted it to. It was easy to put on the chair and when I wasn't using it, it flipped nicely to the back of my chair. I highly recommend it.

El parasol esta muy bien y cumple su función Pero, no ajusta bien a las barras de la Amaca, he tenido que poner cinta aislante para darme mas grosor a la barra ya que se soltaba no coge bien, no lleva tornillos para presionarla, y como aun asi no quedaba del todo segura la he cogido con cinta aislante para darle sujeción, es un chapucilla pero me ha servido, tenerlo en cuenta que no hace presión y se suelta, os las tendréis que ingeniar o devolverla y es una pena porque el parasol es bonito y practico y yo tengo una amaca estándar, no es de barras pequeñas ni estrechas.
