No smoke so far!!!
Have had just about every xl tweeter out their .Smoked them all .I punish these DS18 Pros the same way and never even smelled coil this far .It was a waste of money on the others .Like DS18.

Amazing
Im new to Ds18 but, I cant believe the sound quality i get for the price. My van now has 8 Ds18 speakers & 2 GENXX he subwoofers. Powered by 3 Ds18 Candy Amps. Its reminds me of my JL audio Days of my youth but 1/3 the price. I like to push things & DS18 allows me to do that and sounds damn good when I do, with 0 distortion.
