Can this be used in a offset bbq pit for smoking ribs? and what temp can the metal take?

The metal seems to be relatively light. I would not use it in a BBQ pit. It is also coated, which might peel off due to the heat.

what are the heights at the lowest setting on the 3 and 4 tier models?

On the lowest setting the 3rd rack is about 7 inches high, and 4th rack is 10 inches high
