Retro Lift Arm Kerosene Lighter & Permanent Match 2-in-1, Vintage Antique Style Fluid Lighter with Spare Flint Compartment & Leak-Proof O-Rings, Unique Cool Birthday for Men (Bronze)

I love this lighter. Full disclosure, a Zippo is much more convenient, but this lighter's historical aspect appealed to me. It has a couple of tricks to make it function to my satisfaction. I tried once filling it through the little screw, and spilled lighter fluid all over, then thinking it wasn't worth it. Then I was thinking it was a vintage design KEROSENE TRENCH lighter. I can't envision WW1 doughboys in a muddy trench fiddling with teeny screws. You take the match out, open the wick lid, and submerge it in a can of some refined kerosene. The kerosene lasts much longer than lighter fluid, & the flame grows and starts to soot. The match doesn't light with kerosene, but will with Zippo lighter fluid. I remove it first, then light it with the lighter and use it as a pipe lighting match. It will stay burning a long time. I'm saving the flint & striker for use as an emergency Firestarter should it go dry. It's a cool little lighter, and the price is very reasonable.

I recently purchased the 2 in 1 Lighter Permanent Match Antique Style Lift Arm Kerosene Lighter and I am extremely pleased with my purchase. From the moment I opened the package, I was impressed high-quality bronze finish of the lighter. Setting up the lighter was very straightforward and simple. The feature of having a permanent match is also a great addition. I no longer have to worry about carrying matches or running out of fuel for my lighter. The lift arm design is very convenient. It makes lighting candles, cigarettes, or anything else, a breeze. The durability of this lighter is impressive. I have dropped it a few times and there hasn't been any damage or issues with it. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with my purchase. This Lighter is functional and easy to use, and adds a touch of elegance with its antique design. I highly recommend this product to anyone in the market for a reliable and stylish lighter. It has definitely exceeded my expectations.

The lighter came quick and was packaged well. The lighter portion lit right up after filling it with lighter fluid but the permanent match wick would just smolder and go out. I adjusted the wick and it still wouldn't light. I put a little fluid in the match reservoir and still no luck. Then I looked into the match reservoir with a pen light and noticed there was no wadding and the match reservoir wasn't connected to the reservoir for the lighter portion of the combo. I solved the issue by inserting some wool wadding into the match reservoir, packed it into the bottom, then added fluid and reinserted the match. I pulled the match out again and tried it and it finally worked. There were no instructions for the lighter and I don't know if there was supposed to be wadding in the match reservoir or not, so I just winged it and got lucky. - 1 star for having to engineer a solution for a product that should have worked out of the box after filling.

I really like this lighter. It is of a higher quality that I’ve seen in a while like that of those lighters made in the 40s. It is heavy brass with an impeccable finish. The permanent match works fairly well in my opinion with any piece of technology, you have to master it. I would say 60% of the time I get it to light on the first strike and then 80% the time I haven’t let up by the second strike if three strikes doesn’t work I’m doing it wrong and I have to readjust the way I am striking. I’ve noticed it helps to have the flat blade of the striker in the matchstick laid flat across the striker on the body of the lighter. I felt it necessary to leave a review because of all the negative comments about the permanent match. Also, I would like to mention that I love the fact that every orifice has an O-ring, including around the main wick closure: making it much more waterproof and less prone to evaporate all the fuel out of it, like my zippos tend to do even when I’m not using them. I would also like to point out that kerosene/zippo fluid doesn’t like to ignite with a spark when it’s very cold, but a lighter freshly out of your pocket and warmed by your body heat should light right up much better.

I really wanted to like this lighter but it falls short. I really wanted a permanent match lighter and thought this looked cool and was affordable. The permanent match has worked only two times out of the dozen I've tried. It refuses to light without a flames being introduced. It also is not a great example as it becomes unbearably hot in a matter of seconds. The actual lighter works okay but again this boy gets crazy hot quick and I feel like the seals are not great as it requires frequent refills. The brass plating burns off fast and looks dull quickly.

So, I've had this lighter for all of an hour, if that, but, based off of initial impressions, here's what I have to say; when I get lighters of this style and price, I expect a showpiece, something that looks nice, but when you hold it, it doesn't seem all that stout. This lighter is not just a showpiece, it's beautifully made, and, at this current point, it may do something I thought would never happen, it may replace my zippo, I'll carry them both for a while, as I advise anybody do when you change your EDC, but I think this may be better than my zippo. Yes, of course it works, and feels nice, but the details are impressive as well, there's a small face seal around the wick cap that minimizes loss, along with seals on every screw, including the one for the match, the extra flint holder, in my case, actually had a flint In it, I'm used to there not even being one in the striker. On the base plate/bottom there's a screw plug to nowhere, which I would assume is because they use baseplates in multiple models, that's understandable, but I found an eyeglass screw fits in nicely, probably two, but I only had one, I'll probably try to put a grain of rice in it for when people say they're hungry though 😂 Update; it's plated, steel I'd imagine, it's magnetic, and I've scratched it around the evermatch striker, as it's almost impossible not to slip off the Ferro rod, but that's a problem with all evermatches, at Least for me. plating is a bit disappointing, but it's still very well built. A version that's just brushed steel like a zippo would be nice, instead of the two cheesy designs of what I can only imagine is related to the occult.

I bought this lighter purely for how it looks and what I saw.. It arrived perfectly without flaw, and it functions really well, too! It retains fluid about as long as I expect my Zippo's to retain theirs. It might run out a little quicker than a Zippo, but not by much. You have to remember lighter fluid, gasoline, etc are all quick evaporating fluids for combustion, so they aren't going to last forever unless you find some way to near perma seal the thing aside of where you fill it at. Great lighter, I would but it again without hesitation!

I really dislike having to leave this review. It's a nice lighter; cool design, great size, everything. It just has one problem - it will never light. My lighter came missing the spring that holds the holds the flint against the striker. Without that spring, the flint doesn't make contact and the lighter doesn't spark. As cool as the lighter is, a lighter that doesn't spark can't really be called a lighter. All because of a tiny little spring.

It seems quite a few people are having trouble with the permanent match. Maybe I got lucky but I just adjusted the wick so it was showing more than when it was delivered, also make sure to add a small amount of fluid inside the match stick cylinder
