Bouchard Premium Belgian Dark Chocolate with 72% Cacao - Trial Size

I have been buying a large bag of these every year for several years, during the holidays, so that I have vegan chocolates that are also free of most allergens, to give in gift baskets, stockings, and gift bags. I just use some cellophane and a handful of these chocolates and tie a bow in the cellophane once I wrap it around the chocolates, and it fits in any sized gift bag and looks great. And then there’s the chocolate, it is absolutely delicious and addictive. Don’t eat any before you’ve divvied it up for others, or you may just find yourself eating too much of it with nothing leftover for gifts. It’s such good chocolate and you get so many small, wrapped bars in one 2.2-pound bag. The bag I received this year has an expiration date 20-months in the future, so I have no worries that I’ve received old chocolate. I find this bag to be a great value for a very well-made chocolate.

I personally like Belgian chocolate more than any other chocolate in the world. And I cannot recommend this brand more. Its very fresh and delicious. 72% cacao to me is the perfect dark flavor. It is JUST sweet enough and each little individually wrapped piece has ridges on each side. Do yourself a favor and let it dissolve in your mouth with the ridges on your tongue. Let that ambrosia just melt. Dark chocolate is very good for you. The bag easily reseals too. I didn't count the pieces but there are a lot of them. This is my 2nd time ordering the chocolate and both times it has arrived in pristine condition and I'm now a customer for life. This is an amazing value for what you get. STOP buying sub-par chocolate. Buy this. I'll say it again. Right now, hit the "buy now" button and buy multiple bags. I guarantee you will not go wrong. You will thank me. Smooth and not bitter! Only 4 ingredients!

According to my mom, this is the best dark chocolate ever, so I sent her this large bag for her birthday! It has less sugar than milk chocolate and is actually made in Belgium. She slowly savors one piece of this a day, so this bag will last a very long time. I think this is an excellent value for the price, quality and taste, especially if it makes my mom happy. Mom approved and highly recommended!

Update: The folks at Bouchard reached out to me and worked to understand the nature of my disappointment, and offered a number of options to help meet my satisfaction-bar. Kudos, as their attention is bar-raising. Across all four flavors and price point (all sampled), I now can recommend these as a very good 'candy bowl' option, for your day-to-day chocolate fix, taste and texture. Original input follow: I found these disappointing. Texture is 'dry', not satisfying at all. Flavor is ok, but with a dryish texture, flavor is hard to appreciate. I look to chocolate to satiate my need for a little something sweet, which a good chocolate can easily do. These, did not. These are anything but Belgian-by-reputation or results.

We love this chocolate with morning coffee. Smooth flavorful. Very nice chocolate BUT: I’m the summer it got squishy. I popped it in the fridge all is well.

I bought this basically because they looked good in the picture and the simple ingredients. This turned out to be probably the best tasting chocolate that I have ever had. It has just the right flavor that is no too bitter and not too sweet. It also has a nice bite with just the right amount of hardness. I usually don't like anything new but this company has nailed the perfect dark chocolate.

First of all, I do want to mention that I am a milk chocolate girl all the way!!! I eat a lot of chocolate, in fact, if I am in a bad mood, I will turn to chocolate, and voila! I feel better, BUT I know that milk chocolate is full of sugar, so, I thought I would take a giant leap and try some dark chocolate which I know is much healthier. Dark chocolate has that bitter taste but I was surprised that I didn't get that after taste at all. I was impressed with how quickly my order was processed and mailed and my order was in great condition upon receiving - sometimes you worry about chocolate melting en route. These chocolates are unique in how you are to eat them - one side is smooth and the other side has ridges which is VERY different to other chocolate I have eaten. To get the most effective taste from this chocolate, try putting the ridge side on your tongue and let it sit there for a bit. It then softens and melts a bit. Anyway, I like to eat them that way. I will definitely be buying more and will try the other products that Bouchard carries. Hopefully, milk chocolate pieces will be on the way?????? And they will be healthier????

Delicious! Big bag will last for awhile. Chocolate is high quality and don't need to eat a ton to satisfy cravings.
