Goes with casseroles.
Heavy as Godzilla stomping your brain. Heavy as a Mack truck running over your stoned butt. Yes it is. It's really like hanging out with friends and having a good time and someone decides to make a casserole. They start throwing all kinds of ingredients into it and all you're thinking is "Man, this is gonna be good" and you tingle with excitement. It goes into the oven for a while and you indulge into more of your vice of choice thinking in the back of your mind "When is that glorious casserole gonna be done so I can enjoy it's gooey goodness". The hunger gets more aggressive to the point you're looking every minute at a clock but it seems it's not moving. The anticipation keeps building and finally after an eternity the casserole is done and you grab a plate, a bowl, a slab of wood and scoop some of that hot mess onto it and dig in and realize it tastes like a cake. It's not casserole but cake and it's the most awesomest cake you ever had. Yeah, that's Dopethrone. Have your cake and eat it too you grimy stoners.

Heavy Album -- Incredible Listening Experience
I will admit, I was not familiar with Electric Wizard until I picked up Terrorizer magazine this week and saw their choice of Dopethrone as the best metal album of the last decade. That piqued my interest. That they are considered a "stoner rock" band, and I am a fan of the band Sleep, cemented my decision: I had to hear this album.I'm glad I did. Dopethrone is one of the heaviest albums I have ever heard. It is thunderous! The vocals of Jus Oborn are mixed down into the music and can be difficult to decipher, but that is not a complaint. To me, the non-prominent vocals add to the denseness of the songs. Four of the tracks exceed ten minutes, and not one of them is dull. The riffs, the crush, and the sheer heaviness of this album make Dopethrone a true wonder.I do believe Terrorizer is right on this one.

Bad comparisons.
The tempo of Electric Wizard and the other bands being compared is nothing less than a retarded comparison. The sound is grossly different instrumentally. This is a rare pace of music people strive to find. Something that may reignite the sounds of old Sabbath stuff that never got radio play. Although I don't think anything will come close to the amount of good Sabbath songs, or sound as good, it's still nice to hear. It's almost like me saying some Black Sabbath songs are too long and slow, everyone should go listen to Iron Maiden. Bad comparison. It simply means you may not like the sound, but it then shouldnt be compared to something quite different.

Buy this album if you want to be instantly immersed in DOOM METAL
This English trio of darkness have called themselves the "heaviest band in the Universe..." I can't disagree with that fact, no Sir, not one bit. Listening to this album is like trying to swim laps in Mississippi mud, a veritable quagmire of colossal magnitude thrust upon your shoulders rendering you helpless. Funeralopolis with it's melodic detuned chugging is akin to the stickiest of the icky! After one listen you can practically feel your consciousness descend like lead into the pit of your stomach as this unholy triumvirate's melodies drag you down into the sludge factory of DOOM METAL! This album is amazing if you're down with music that sounds like it was written by Lu Cifer himself!!! After all if metal is the product of Satan... THEN AT LEAST HE JAMS!!!!!

Bone crushing - gloriously heavy!!
What can I say about this that hasn't already been said? This album will bludgeon you to death, and then stomp on your brains - and you will love it and go back for more! I sometimes just laugh when the opening song plays - it is so "how the hell did they do that??" heavy! This is doom, sludge, fuzz, and sheer weight. It's not fast, blast, double-bass and guitar proggy pyrotechnics - it's sludge - pure, evil, thick, smoked out sludge. Careful how loudly you play it - I could see it blowing speakers, it is SOOO fuzzy and distorted. I'll end it here, I can't say anything that hasn't already been said. Buy this, and be careful with it!
