In addition, some products labeled as olive oil may contain seed oil, which poses a serious health risk to consumers who are allergic to seed oil. The Committee directs the FDA to take a sampling of imported olive oil to determine if it is adulterated or misbranded. In 2014, FDA performed a survey of olive oil products available to consumers within the United States, and included a cross-section of domestic and imported products in the survey. FDA used USDA grading standards in the assessment and used an analytical methodology capable of detecting 10 percent seed oil adulteration. Out of 88 products surveyed, only three showed evidence of adulteration." The FDA continues to monitor olive oil. Trump did not win reelection, pigs don't fly, the Earth is not flat.
