I was doing pre-season maintenance on my barrels today, when I discovered a crack on the outer flange on the adapter. I nearly panicked to remember where I got. Fortunately; it was marked with "Oldegg" and "RainPal." I found that I got it here on desertcart in 2020. So, I have nothing to woory about; a new one is on the way! Review: Perfect fit for my application - Worked perfect for my application as seen in the photos. Much easier than trying to install one into an existing cap.

This one lasted 5 years - I can't do without it
I've been refining my rain collection systems for nearly 20 years; and this was the best ever solution to connect my barrels to my Earthminded downspout diverter' 1 1/4 inch outlet with a flexible hose. I was doing pre-season maintenance on my barrels today, when I discovered a crack on the outer flange on the adapter. I nearly panicked to remember where I got. Perfect fit for my application
Worked perfect for my application as seen in the photos. Much easier than trying to install one into an existing cap.

Perfect replacement for the one that broke over the winter on our rain barrel.

Works great
I used this with a blue barrel, but it should work fine with any barrel that has fine threads. That's important, as most barrels have 2 bung holes, 1 will be fine thread, and the other hole will be coarse, or (in barrel-speak) a buttress thread. If you make your rain water catch system like I did, you'll use the fine threaded holes for the PVC pipe to connect 2 barrels, so you'll be left with a buttress thread for the water inlet - which is what this is for. So you'll need to find a 2 inch buttress thread to fine thread adapter to make it work. (I used this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MWYLOA2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) I've attached a few pictures that hopefully make it easier to understand how I made my system. 2 inch PVC to connect the barrels, the spigot fit into the lower buttress thread cap, and this (with an adapter) fit into the top.

Fits perfectly
Fit my blue 55-gal rain barrel hub perfectly, providing a bug and debris free path for the rain water to flow. Fits a 1.25 ID hose from the diverter in a downspout.

Great Buy
Worked like a charm. Planning on putting another rain barrel in next spring. I will definitely buy again.

Developed a small leak at the turn up to the spout.
Bought one for my water storage barrel and it has developed a small pin hole leak at the point where the spout starts. Very small and slow leak. I keep my water storage outside so it's not much of an issue. The temp has never gone below 40F since it was installed and the leak has just begun in the last couple months since it has been hot out.
