Seems like a good product
I have not tried to light the pouch on fire of course. Seems like a good product. The pouch is constructed well, has no exposed fiberglass I can see and has strong Velcro. It’s a great size as you don’t have to fold your basic papers to fit and it holds papers, cash and small jewelry well. It fits nice in our little safe as well so it’s an extra step of protection but also helps me organize the safe better. I would recommend this and might get a second for me.

Formidable Fastener Strips, Quality Materials = Peace of Mind
This is definitely a "peace of mind" purchase, and I'm happy with it. I went with this one because it seemed to have the most/best reviews and I felt it was reasonably priced. Now having it in my possession, I feel like it will do the job. Not fireproof mind you, just resistant but that's enough to ease my mind for important documents like a birth certificate and car titles. The fastener strips are large and very strong, they know their place in life and that's not to provide quick and frequent access to the contents inside; it's to hold strong and protect those contents. I took some pictures to show some dimensions and such :)

Large, closes nice, convenient, piece of mind
I have a safe that I keep most important things in but I wanted this because I wanted something I could put passports, birth certificate, titles, etc in so if we needed to leave our house quickly we would have it all together and the other reason is so that when I travel all of my documents are still in a fully protected bag. This is sturdy, large enough for what I needed. Ironically right after I got this our town had an explosion at a refinery and we were forced to evacuate. This did exactly what it was supposed to do. Everything I needed was in one place. I can't tell you how it holds up to fire yet and hopefully I never have to report that but it seems quite well made.

Seems good to me
Fortunately I haven't "tested" the bag's effectiveness against fire. The size is fine for me -- it's holding things like my insurance policies, pink slips, personal identification certificates, etc. as well as a small notebook with computer passwords, and there is plenty of room to spare. The velcro closure is stiff and wide which makes it kind of a pain to open -- I would think that's a good feature that keeps the contents protected. Hopefully I'll never be able to tell you how well it withstands a fire.

Sturdy material, good size
This is a great size bag for my large/full size documents so they can be protected in the case of an unexpected emergency in the home. The velcro at the top is a wide band that is very difficult to open which is great for the integrity of the product. I have not tried to throw it in a fire or anything to make sure it "works" but it seems as though it would do the job!

I feel better about having my important documents in the bag for safekeeping.
This is a very heavy duty bag. Seems very well constructed. I don't know if it protect your documents from fire, but I would guess it would work. The velcro closure is really big & tough to open, so I believe it would seal the documents really well. I was excited to see how well constructed it was. I feel better about having my important documents in the bag for safekeeping. I have kept them in a file folder in the past. The only thing I would say is I had to take the documents out (not a big deal) of the folder because it wouldn't quite fit into the bag. I have no complaints! I would recommend to anyone!

Not quite what I hoped
We just spent a fortune on wills and a special needs trust, so I was looking for something to keep the documents in when I gave a copy to each of two relatives for safe keeping. It arrived quickly and it looked attractive. The inside was nice - looks like vinyl - and not itchy as other bags were described. I took some scrap papers and placed them inside to test. I sealed the envelope, put in the sink and sprayed it with the sink sprayer. I dried off the outside, then held it above a flame for several seconds. The result - yes I had wet papers, but the entire document was not ruined, just one paper was wet, the other just on one side. Still readable. The area where the flame was did get a mark on the outside of the envelope but the inside was fine - nothing melted or burned. I'm considering putting the documents into a plastic bag, then into the On Shield bag for further protection. For $18 I'll probably keep it for now until I hear of a better product. Just wished this was a bit more secure.

this is a great item
I purchase this item to help protect some of my more important papers this is a great item it is water proof and it is fire proof even when the safe that it is in is not. so if you need to have that type of protection this is a good item and I got it and a great price.
