LEONLITE Motion Sensor Security Lights Dusk to Dawn IP65 3000K White

Installed and working. Hope I have for a long time. The guages to set distance, dusk to dawn feature, etc, could be better displayed in a color other than the exact same color as the unit.

Easy to install and works as intended. Originally purchased “Like New” Amazon return that was $10 cheaper, but it was broken and missing important components for installation. Thankfully was able to return it for a new one that works perfectly. Beware of so called Amazon return “values”.

Looks and feels like a nice quality light. 3000k color temp looks much better than the bright white motion lights. Perfect for lighting walkways where you don't want a super white security color look. However 1st light I ordered arrived defective. It mainly worked as intended but would turn on without motion and stay on for up to thirty minutes. Replacement light works fine.

I started by shopping for a cheaper light, but decided to pay more because the cheap ones are exactly that. I am happy with my choice. You will be too. The unit is solid and well made. The motion sensor has three adjustments that give it flexibility. It is plenty bright for illuminating the driveway in front of my house and I trigger the light by walking about 25 - 30 ft. away, maybe more, but I haven't tested it for distance. A few items you should take note of. 1. This is labelled as being for a wall mount and the mounting instructions show it that way. I needed it for an under-the-eave mount so I had to rotate the motion sensor head about 180 to get it positioned properly between the lights. It wasn't easy because it is very tightly fastened into the housing and gripping the nut inside the housing is difficult with any kind of pliers. 2. It pays to read the instructions and set the settings on the sensor before you install the light. It is simply easier to see what you are doing. Note that the length of time it stays on goes from 5 SECONDS to 55 MINUTES. You need to turn the adjustment at least 1/4 of the arc to get it to stay on for just a few minutes. It's an odd scale for setting time. 3. It can be helpful to put a little super glue on the edge of the housing and then press the gasket onto it so that the gasket stays evenly positioned around the edges of the housing. It is always a pain to keep the gasket centered when you are trying to shove wires into the housing at the same time. 4. When you are done, you can wrap white electrical tape around the joint where the light attaches to the electrical junction box to help keep water out. Caulk is messy.

Pros -Easy install -bright and reactive -metal Cons -Failed in less than 3 months After installation the fixture was solid. I Made sure to use the included gasket (even though it was in a dry location) as from time to time a bird will land on it. As of early this week instead of lighting up it presents a red blinking light on the sensor. After removal all the wires were still fastened with the included Wire nuts. Testing of the line, load and ground showed there was not problems there. Replace i had spare sconce fixture on hand and hooked that up with no issues following that. Which is sorta a bummer, i really wanted a reliable light in that place. Now i get to purchase another light and follow up with a 3rd install 15 ft off the ground.

It was past time to replace the ancient floodlight over the sidewalk. After reading various reviews, including one on popular mechanics, we ordered this Leonlite LED motion sensor double floodlight. It is hardwired and can be used as an on/off light like our old light, as a dusk to dawn light, or as a motion detecting light. Installation involved taking down the old light, installing a new box, wiring the light, and adjusting the angle of the lights and the motion sensor. The lights were really bright and were easily adjusted. The motion sensor not so much. No matter the angle, the sensor would not register over the sidewalk, but about 5 ft into the garden beds. We finally realized that the angle of the house siding forced the sensor out away from the sidewalk. Installing a shim behind the box allowed the sensor to be aimed down (see photo #1), and just like that, it turned on as we walked on the sidewalk. This makes this area much safer.

I'm writing this review for both the 3000K and 5000K versions that I have purchased here: The item does the job as I expected. Bright light on both with 1,600 lumens from these 20W (each) emitters. The shell feels of quality (metal) and everything seems well designed with sleek contours. These floods install to an approx. 4 inch (4.2 inch or so) round electrical box that you should already have, along with the house wiring. Middle large screw secures them in place (instead of the 2 little perimeter screws on my old flood lights. Neoprene cover over the screw head is a nice touch and completes the look. The instructions are adequate and the installer needs to have a basic knowledge of installing basic electrical fixtures. A handyman quote me around 1 hour per to install. I was just curious. Both the 5K and 3K kelvin do a great job, but for areas where I'll be in the evenings and nights, I selected and prefer the warmer ones (3000 Kelvin). For the front of my house I also went warm. For the lights shining out into the woods, I went cold industrial lights. 3000 Kelvin is warm without going into that yellow-street-light that's so tiring to the eyes. The one feature I don't like it that upon selecting them to stay on all night (on-off-on toggle within 2 seconds), they will automatically turn themselves off after about 8 hours. In reality, I would have done all warm. I'm enclosing a photo comparing the two, but I understand this is hard to do with a photo. If in doubt, I'd select warm. It is closer to what I'm replacing (incandescent flood lights).

Bought a few on these 9 months ago. Adequate brightness. These started out ok and would come on at 30-50 feet away, which is what I wanted. Two of them will not come on now unless I am right underneath, person or vehicle. I have re-aimed and adjusted them to no avail.

Bit expensive but worth for the purpose I bought it. my back yard is flooded with this one light.

I had to send these lights back because I could not source the bracket I needed and even though I contacted the retailer and the manufacturer I could not determine that they were suitable for UK voltage and electrical standards. Apart from that they looked well designed and probably would have done a good job in countries they were intended for.

Liked the value and well made

The brightness was just what I wanted. Having great difficulty trying to set up sensor. It detects motion from the side but does not register someone directly in front. Also range is only about 8 ft.. A work in progress and will try a few more adjustments before I give up on trying to get satisfaction. Yhe sensor on my old light was far better.

It still come on even in daylight hours.
