Small and Accurate
Great Product. I play different courses all of the time and this product never fails. It's easy to use and provides great information to help. you plan out how to play a hole before you tee it up.

Fantastic GPS
This is my second one and is the best gps ever! I have a laser one, but this little guy is easier to use and is very accurate! Like the way it just fits in your pocket, like the fact it gives you yardage to front, middle and back of green and also yardage in the fairways, and especially how far to trouble spots. Highly recommend!

Big improvement over a G10 --Finds course fast and battery life is great
Upgraded from a G10 and boy is this an improvement. Takes a short time to find satellite and then your course is right there. Much, much faster than the G10 and the battery lasts much longer, which seem strange, since this is in colour. Intuitive interface makes it much easier to use than the G10's buttons. Another plus, is that you can touch the hole number in the upper left and it brings up a screen so that you can quickly change to another hole if it is off or you just want to see another one. The g10 forced you to scroll hole to hole until you got the right number. I really like being able to touch a spot on the course and get distances -don't need to pull out my laser rangefinder anymore except on the range. The only negatives I can report is that because of its small size it might take a couple tries to touch the spot you want unless you have pencil fingers, and once you have checked a potential distance is shows the total from your location to that spot and from that spot to the whole, so you need to back out if you want the straight line distance to the hole. This also happens if you accidently touch the screen and that is hard to see sometimes because of its small size. I found this out when I was wonder why it was showed yardage much longer the tee marker. Accidental touches also get you on to other screens, but the back error works great.

Great GPS for Golf
Replaced my old Garmin - on/off switch wore out after twelve years. Pretty much comparable - similar screen display. Played my first round with it, then checked the remaining battery power - 88%! Should last 3-4 rounds before needing a recharge. I don't use the belt clip; I just keep it in the cupholder on the cart - harder to lose it that way.

Awesome!
Great little device from Garmin. Easy to use and read even though it is small. GPS takes a while to connect sometimes but overall works great.

big numbers mode makes it easy to see distances for those of us with less ...
Played my first round with the Approach G30 today. It started quickly and immediately recognized the course I was playing, but took 2-3 attempts to achieve a connection with the satellite, possibly due to the overcast and misty conditions. Took a few holes to become accustomed to how to properly navigate through all the options for scoring, putts, fairways hit and then advancing to the next hole. People with larger fingers will likely have a difficult time navigating through this device due to it's size, which is even smaller than I anticipated. My previous device was a SkyCaddie SGXw, which is noticeably larger than the G30 and a bit easier to navigate in my opinion. I decided to get rid of the SkyCaddie because of battery issues and the fact that it cost $50 per year to register to be able to use. The G30 has no yearly fees for usage and states it's pre-loaded with over 40,000 courses. Played 18 holes in approx. 3 hours and 30 minutes and still had 80% battery life remaining. The yardages appeared to be accurate, within 1-3 yards of my friends laser. Here are a list of the pros and cons. Pros: Starts quickly, noticed the course I was on quickly, yardages and hazards appeared to accurate, big numbers mode makes it easy to see distances for those of us with less then sterling eyesight, able to keep my score after a bit of trial and error, takes awhile to get used to it's smaller size, easy to view your stats via Garmin Connect, charges quickly, battery life appears to be excellent. Appears as though you could likely squeeze in 3 full rounds of use out of this device, if you're rounds don't take 5 hours each. Cons: Depending on the size of your hand and fingers, the small size could be an issue with being able to properly navigate the device, takes quite a few holes to feel your way through the device. Using the touch screen took quite awhile to adjust to, hitting the function you wanted didn't always work the first few times you attempted to use them. Overall I really enjoyed my first venture with the G30, my only wish is that this device be a bit larger in order to promote easier usage. I would recommend this device to most who enjoy a good golf GPS device, that's fairly easy to use and give you all the info and options for scoring stats, distances and hazards that you desire. UPDATE 4/3/17: Played my second round with this device, it again had trouble locating a satellite on the first attempt. After 6 holes it would no longer allow me to enter scores, putts, fairways hit/missed and a few other functions. It did continue to automatically recognize when I began playing another hole. It was quite frustrating not being able to enter my stats or even back out of the scorecard without having to hit the power button in an attempt to reset. Will contact Garmin Support, if they cannot fix remotely, I will be sending back this device. Very disappointed. UPDATE 4/12/17: Spoke with Garmin Support again on 4/11/17 and the tech states they have no ETA on the software update. I asked if Garmin would compensate me for lost usage, they state they do not do that. They suggested that I can purchase a G8 for an addition $100. I let the tech know that I already paid $250 for the G30 and the G8 is currently selling for less than $300 and why would I want to pay $50 more for a device that is retailing for much less, I received no explanation. To say I'm incredibly disappointed and upset with how Garmin has handled this issue would be an understatement. I had heard mostly positive reviews about Garmin's products and support, this issue makes me reconsider what I had read previously.

Accurate and handy
Distances seem very, very accurate. Small size makes it easy to put in pocket. I also bought a mount so the G30 can be secured to golf cart. With just a little "training", it is easy to operate and download courses.

Good G30 device in general, and better than A6.
Upgrading from a Garimin A6 to this G30. The G30 is affordable and charges good, yet you need to take the belt clip off to do charging. Glad this device has universal C connect. Furthermre, my suggestion - don't use the belt clip. Easy to lose without a secure attachment. G30 has a place to secure a keyring and attach to golf bag. A retractable gear keeper works for me. The a6 had less of a display area because of dedicated push buttons. G30 has more display area. Really hope the satellite reception will be stronger than A6. This is a keeper. Put your name on this awesome golf gps.

Pas de surprise l'affichage est fort petit. Si vous portez des lunettes pour lire c'est à déconseiller. mettre un film protecteur d'écran.

Great product. Accurate to 3-5 meters on most of my yardage.

This Garmin Approach G30 is rubbish. Eleven months old and has ceased working. A lot of money for 11 months and obviously not used every day. Very disappointed. I would give in 0 stars but the feed will not be submitted unless that field is completed!!!

I love this Garmin. I had one before this one and that was excellent too. After 5 years the on/off button disintegrated probably from over use lol. My only gripe is it’s too small. I wish it was more like a telephone handset so you can easily see the figures. Nevertheless, it’s easy to use, gives all the distances you need and is very reliable.
