Psychology of Twilight Paperback – 4 October 2011

The perspectives of the contributors (all professionals with advanced degrees in the field of psychology) are informative, well-written, and interesting when it comes to human behavior and the motivations behind them as demonstrated by the characters in the saga.One issue that no contributor addressed was why the character of Edward who is supposedly a 100+ year old vampire in a 17 year-old's body would be smitten and fall i love with a 17 year-old girl (Bella). After living for 100+ years, you would suppose that he has matured mentally, emotionally, and spiritually as a man. This may simply be the short-sightedness and fantasy of the author from the female perspective. Younger women may be physically attractive but can be extremely stupid and annoying in real life--and that comes from the perspective of women in their late twenties and up. Why a 100+ year old man (although in a 17 year-old immortal's platform) would risk his own life for the awkward and confused Bella, who knows?Great book with great insights.

Ich bin mehr als nur begeistert! super buch, dass gleich 2 meiner lieblingthemen verbindet: psychlogie und twilight! in diesem buch lernt man interessante psycholoische fakten und biochemische vorgänge kennen, die erklären warum wir einen partner wählen oder eben nicht wählen und das auf eine super coole lockere schreibweise das sogar ich als nicht-englisch-profi keine schwierigkeiten hatte, dieses buch zu verstehen. mir gefällt auch gut dass es nicht nur von einer person geschrieben wurde... das buch regt zum nachdenken an bzgl eigener partnerwahl und macht lust auf mehr wissen diesbezüglich sprich: sich eventuell auch fachbücher zu den themen zuzulegen (die dann natürlich nichts mit twilight zu tun haben ;-) ) ich bin auf jeden fall sehr glücklich mit diesem kauf, das cover ist finde ich mehr als gelungen (umso trauriger bin ich, dass es nicht wenigstens broschiert ist :-( ) also wer wissen möchte, warum jacob keine chance hatte und warum edward ausgerechnet in bella so verliebt ist und was ihre "symmetrie" damit zu tun hat und warum twilight gut für unser seelenheil ist, der sollte sich das buch kaufen!!!

Excellent!! Looks at the characters and their/our psyche in different ways. MUST read 4 die hard fans!!
