It's a Basic Bag that Will Do a Basic Job
This Ranger cooktop carry bag arrived in new condition with no sewing flaws that I could observe. Note, though, that I have called this a carry bag, not a carry case. Calling something a case, even in the case of a soft-sided case, tends to suggest to me a better degree of padding/protection than this bag actually has. Of course, the bag is made of the same outer material that many soft-sided cases I own have and has some semblance of structure, so to that degree, it aligns with expectations, but the side walls don't have any real cushioning to speak of and the "tactile bumper" the listing description includes is only located on the very bottom where they presume the bag will rest when the cooktop is leaned up sideways against something (the tactile bumper is pictured in one of the seller images and that is the only place it is). That bumper will do more to keep the bag from slipping when in that position than to protect the cooktop as a whole, and when it's being transported in a vehicle, it may well not be transported in that position. So the bag's actual protective capacity is more limited than the soft cases I own for a variety of other products. It's best to be aware that, in terms of protection, the bag will do more to keep the cooktop clean and dry when stored than it will to protect the cooktop from impacts. The bag's outer material seems relatively sturdy, though, and it offers a very close fit for the wok cooktop: the cooktop definitely won't be shifting around in the bag (although I might personally not have minded a little extra space, so I could insert a bit of extra cushioning). And the bag does make transporting the cooktop less awkward and allows me to balance the load, so I can carry more items at the same time. While not absolutely necessary if it's stored in a clean, dry location, having the bag for the cooktop does make carrying it more convenient. That being the case -- while I'd hoped for more protection at this price point and it might have been nice for the bag to have an outer pocket for small accessories (like silicone handles or gloves) -- I am relatively pleased with the fit and the way the bag distributes the cooktop's weight when in the carry position. And there is, of course, the convenience factor -- truthfully, I could have sewn a better cushioned bag with pockets for the cooktop myself and spent less money, but that does take time and energy, and I have only so much of either. So while I do think it should either be included with the cooktop purchase or at least priced lower based on what this bag actually is, I opted to buy the bag, anyway. I'm not really blown away by features or quality -- I'd love to see it redesigned to increase protection and add more functionality -- but I think it's sturdy enough to hold up to the weight of the cast iron cooktop, so as long as I exercise care, it'll do the job and is worthy of four stars.

works great for my 19" cast iron disco
This worked well for my 19" discada. I wish they would make a bigger one for my 23" discada.
