Just what I have been looking for.
I love this product. You DO NOT have to pay $9 a month for THEM to keep your video. It records to a 128Gig SD card. Installation is simple. The Kasa app is very nice. You can draw a square where you want the camera to notice activity. It records audio and video when motion is detected. It erases old video when it runs out of memory. If you have to grab video, on iPhone you can screen record so you can grab what you need to your phone, and send to anyone from there, even police, so easy. When I first installed it. It said the SD card was not the right format. The app kind of froze for a while........it was downloading latest firmware. When that was all done, everything worked great. It comes with an external electronic doorbell as you have to disable your current doorbell. The electronic doorbell has 3 volume levels, much louder than the old fashioned bell we had. It has 8 different ringtones. I did have to buy an $80 Netgear WIFI booster as out router is in a room in the back part of the house and the doorbell is at the front door. Even thought my phone shows 5 full bars, the video camera wasn't getting wifi. Once the WIFI booster was "WPS" synced to the router (push the button on each device) it all worked. When you monitor the video feed, you can hear audio from the outside. Using the app, you can use your phone to talk to the person at your front door. The audio is loud and clear. I have 2 KASA wall switches that turn on the lights to the front and rear doors in to the house. I have 2 KASA lights that use the app. You can change color and brightness. I have 4 KASA smart outlets, when Christmas comes, the app turns on all the Christmas lites in the house a the same time. I am in heaven. 1 app for everything with NO MONTHLY FEE. This is working for me. I hope it works for you too. I might buy a cheap small tablet that can be set to monitor the video at the front door all day.

Great product
Well worth the $50. Integrates with home assistant and frigate. Easy to install and image quality is great. I personally use tailscale and everything works fine. The door trim was my issue. It wouldn't sit flush. I snipped the wedge and everything fit. It's wired so no battery life. Easy setup and wifi is not dropped. My wife loves it for Security of our daughter.

Great Smart Doorbell with Excellent Video, but a Few Minor Drawbacks
The Kasa Smart Video Doorbell (KD110) delivers solid performance and excellent value overall. The 2K resolution video is crisp and clear, making it easy to see visitors and details around my front door, even at night thanks to the night vision feature. I also like the 2-way audio — the sound is clear on both ends, which makes talking to delivery people or guests simple and convenient. Installation was straightforward with hardwired power, and I appreciate that I don’t have to worry about batteries dying. The notifications are fast and reliable, and it works well with Alexa and Google Home for voice control. Cloud and SD card storage options give flexibility, though I wish the app interface were a bit smoother and that some features (like advanced motion zones) were easier to customize. Overall it’s a dependable smart doorbell with excellent video quality — just a few small quirks keep it from five stars. Highly recommended for most users!

This is what I think.
This Kasa camera is the 3rd or 4th camera I have given a try. I had tried both battery operated and hard wired. The idea of having to replace or charge the batteries every few months turned me away from the battery operated cameras. I have an older Condo and had to purchase a new transformer in order to power this Kasa. I almost didn't try it because the doorbell transformer is tucked up inside a small laundry closet and was heck to get access to... and even then I had to do most of the work with my left hand. Anyway, this old dude managed somehow. When I went to hook up the camera the instructions told me to look for a blinking orange light to confirm I was getting power. Well, all I could see was a white circle light and it was not blinking. I contacted customer service and they walked me through the process a couple of times and I still only saw the white circle light. The CS rep finally said something to the effect of... "You are looking at the small LED light at the top, right?" Well... with my old eyeballs I had never even seen or noticed that itty bitty thing. Once the light was confirmed blinking I was up and running. When I removed my doorbell cover there was a large hole in the wall behind it that was larger than the base of the camera body. I went to Michael's and bought a $2 oval wood piece and painted it. I had to drill holes for the screws and the wires but that part was easy. It has been about a month since installation and I have to give this camera 5 STARS. I'm sure it is not the best one out there... but for $45 it does remarkably well. It makes no sense to me at all to pay for remote storage of 'MY' video. For starters, I think just by having the camera light up when someone approaches is a pretty good deterrent to someone with ulterior motives. I get a notice within 3 seconds if I am on WiFi and maybe 10 or 12 seconds when I am away. This gives plenty of time to speak to someone through the unit... or to use one of the handful of recorded messages. When large trucks or vans go by I usually get a false alert... but I don't find it to be much of a nuisance as I don't live on a major street. The software does allow you to outline the 'active' areas but I have not found that it makes much of a difference. If desired, you have the option to pay a small monthly fee for storage (much less than some others) but you also have the option to insert a Micro SD card, which is what I did. As I understand it, the old video gets replaced to make room for the more recent video. Someone was complaining of this in their review but I find it to be brilliant. If there is a 'serious' event that takes place I can always remove the SD card and copy that file to my computer. But... at least i don't have to remove the SD card every month or so to clear it out for the new data. I haven't had a chance to check out the night visions as our HOA turns all of the porch lights on automatically with a light sensor... but in my case, even with the porch light glaring in, the view is very acceptable. I actually think that this company could give 'R#*G' a run for their money. The quality is pretty great (especially at this price point), the subscription service is much lower... AND they allow you the option for local storage. Who would pay two or three times as much for the other brand... and then have to pay out a substantial amount of money over time in order to have access to your own video?! A bit of software upgrade and I'd give it 5 stars at twice this price... but as it is, I am not sure where I could have found a better value and still have my home 'protected'.

DO NOT BUY THIS OR ANY OF THEIR PRODUCTS. Horrible customer service NO HELP
If I could do ZERO stars I would. It worked great for 1 day. After that it disconnected from the network and has never been able to reconnect. I have reset the device so many times I lost count and still it cannot find the network. It never even pops up as an option for connecting when looking at my network list. Tried connecting using a different phone and still the same problem. Called support and they couldn’t fix the issue so they had me pay for a replacement and then they would refund me that amount when the receive the defective item. I paid for it, then a week later I’m emailed saying it’s out of stock til May and they didn’t even mention refunding me. So I paid DOUBLE (once for original defective product and once for replacement) and STILL NO DEVICE THAT WORKS. I will be reporting them to the BBB. This is horrendous business. I would NOT get this device or any of their products as the customer service is 0 stars and no help.

Who’s there… Kasa!
Love this Kasa doorbell. First tried a Ring and sent it back because the Ring only records when it senses motion. Kasa allows you to record 24/7 with a memory card, look at anything even if it didn’t pick up motion, all at a lower price with no subscription. Easy to install and works with all my other Kasa stuff on the same app. I did have to get a mounting adapter because of the lame location of my doorbell. Highly recommend

Disappointing Night Vision
I recently purchased the Kasa Smart Video Doorbell Camera to enhance the security of my home and keep an eye on visitors. While the camera boasts several impressive features, I can't help but feel disappointed, mainly due to its subpar night vision capabilities. Pros: 1. Easy Installation: Setting up the Kasa Smart Video Doorbell Camera was a breeze. The included instructions were clear and concise, and I had it up and running within an hour. 2. High-Definition Daytime Footage: During daylight hours, the camera captures crisp and clear footage. It's reassuring to have a sharp image of anyone approaching my front door. 3. Motion Detection: The motion detection feature works well and alerts me promptly when someone is at the door. This has been a valuable addition to my home security setup. Cons: 1. Inadequate Night Vision: The biggest letdown with the Kasa Smart Video Doorbell Camera is its night vision capability. Even in moderately low light conditions, the footage becomes grainy and indistinct. It's almost impossible to recognize faces or details in the dark. 2. Limited Viewing Angle: The camera's field of view is somewhat limited, which can make it difficult to see visitors standing slightly off-center from the doorbell. This becomes even more problematic at night when the night vision is unreliable. 3. Inconsistent Connectivity: I've experienced occasional connectivity issues with the camera, resulting in missed alerts and delayed notifications. 4. Pricey for the Features: Given the disappointing night vision and limited field of view, I expected more from the Kasa Smart Video Doorbell Camera for its price point. There are more budget-friendly options on the market with similar or even better performance. While the Kasa Smart Video Doorbell Camera offers convenience and ease of installation, it falls short in delivering satisfactory night vision performance. If night monitoring is a crucial aspect of your home security needs, I'd recommend looking elsewhere for a camera that excels in low-light conditions. However, if you primarily need daytime surveillance and don't mind the limitations mentioned, this camera might suffice.

I like it.
I have had the Kasa doorbell for about a year now, and I am very happy with it. It has worked flawlessly without any problems. I have a Ring Pro doorbell on my front door, and the Kasa doorbell on my back door. The Kasa Doorbell and the Ring Pro are both similar in build quality and picture. However, the button on the Ring Pro doorbell got cracked over time. I don't think that will happen with the Kasa Doorbell. The biggest downside of the Kasa doorbell for me is that it will NOT ring the old wired mechanical doorbell in my house (the Ring Pro doorbell will do this). The biggest upside of the Kasa doorbell for me is that it does not require a subscription to view the videos (the Ring Pro doorbell does). The Kasa doorbell uses a chime unit that does not connect to the Kasa app or the internet. You change the ring tone and volume by manually pressing buttons on the side of the chime unit. The Kasa doorbell uses a dedicated wireless signal to ring the chime unit. This means that the chime unit rings instantly, and it does not rely on an internet connection. The Kasa doorbell does not give motion alerts on the Chime unit. The Chime unit is for the doorbell only. Motion alerts are only available through the app. You can add additional chime units, but I haven't been able to find an official Kasa chime for sale. I used this one instead: [[ASIN:B09G2S532N] SECRUI Wireless Doorbell] I just followed the directions that came with the new chime unit. When it said to press the doorbell button, I instead pressed the pair link in settings on the Kasa app. The recording feature works very well. You can access the video recordings through the app without a subscription if you install an SD card in the doorbell. And, you can remove the SD card to copy the recordings to your laptop. The recordings are in MP4 format and they are very good quality. No subscription is required to record videos, view the videos in the app, or to copy the videos to a laptop. I would buy the Kasa Doorbell again, and I am considering replacing my Ring doorbell on the front door with a Kasa Doorbell.
