Affordable, looks cool, easy to use
My old record player was not keeping a consistent speed. So, I decided to get a new turntable. After looking at what's available, I decided to order this Retrolife turntable. It's easy to use. My last player was automatic. This player requires you to pay attention and lift the needle and switch off the platter. When you are listening to records, you have to stick close by to change sides. I tried the Bluetooth feature, it works well, and for someone without a stereo receiver, this is probably a nice way to connect to your bluetooth speakers or headphones. I prefer to use a phono cable to connect the player to my receiver. I did upgrade the audio-technica stylus. The included tan colored stylus sounded a little flat. The red stylus has better bass and just sounds better. It's was a cheap upgrade. Good value, looks cool, plays records. What more do you need?

Absolutely My FAV!
Absolutely love this turntable! The sound quality is fantastic—warm, rich, and super clear. Setup was a breeze, and it looks great in my space. It plays my vinyl collection beautifully, with no skips or distortions. The build feels solid, and it’s been a joy rediscovering my favorite records. I won’t regret buying it!

006 Reporting!!!
The media could not be loaded. Well it seems to me that in 72 years of living on this Earth and enjoying music and especially turntables and phono cartridges one might say I've been around the block a few times. The turntable for review here is the Retro life h u 006 and compared to last year's Blockbuster turntable at such an entry level price the Angels horn HP double O2 I must say that this one is quite impressive! After tweaking the two speeds 33 and 45 the stability of the highly crafted machine is quite impressive but do thoroughly clean the inner and outer rims of the platter as it uses a very sophisticated speed detection and correction system. It is imperative that you supply your own RCA photo patches and I highly recommend the 3ft Cable Direct from Germany available here on Amazon for about 10 bucks. These cables can make an audible difference and seem to be a wonderful match for the Audio Technica cartridge and the Retro life tonar which in itself is very impressive! Some reviewers will complain about the use of plastic on the tone arm but I'm telling you the combination of the plastic head shell area and the metal tone arm works wonderfully with the Audio Technica 3600 l phone cartridge which can easily be upgraded to the two gram tracking 91b. Once this is done you will have a machine but you need not make any apologies to any of the audio files knobs who spent hundreds or even thousands on their equipment. From the lowest lows to the highest highs the detail is stunning! And so is the polymer wood plastic finish in cherry wine of the unit itself. It is absolutely gorgeous to look at in person rather than just pictures alone and the entire turntable kit built in the USA by you with foreign parts coming from China renders a first rate analog reproducer that you can be proud of and enjoy for years to come. Happy listening and God bless! PJs 2Update March 2023.. I just mounted the Audio Technica vm95c blue cartridge to the tone arm for an upgrade and now the sound quality has been taken up another level and it was so easy because of the threaded mounting holes in the new VM 95c. I highly recommend that retro life include this cartridge with this turntable in the future. The nice thing other than the easy mount is that the user can upgrade by simply buying a more expensive stylus right on up to the ml micro line one at the top of the line!

Functions well with one caveat
Sound quality is good, tracking is good, and it's a very attractive piece of kit. That said, this turntable REALLY needs a way to turn off Bluetooth. I was listening to an LP the other day and unfortunately so was my neighbor when this turntable automatically connected to their Bluetooth speakers. This is a VERY significant design oversight that needs to be corrected in future versions.

Looks aren't everything....
This player really looks great! Honestly love the aesthetic and if you never have to put a record on it the 5 stars!Part1: (excitement and a pinch of hope)Our first one lasted about an hour and a half. We were a little skeptical at first as some of the highs from cymbals were scratchy but thought this was just a viynl-ism. After an hour the periodic slow downs with related pitch shifts really started to get noticeable. Soon the player sounded drunk and no belt cleaning or adjustments made a single bit of difference. I then called Amazon customer care, which was a great experience and the guy agreed to replace.Part 2: (ups and downs)We got the replacement the week after our issues and the support call. Put it all together carefully and let her rip. Sound quality was perfect, we really thought we had a good one. 4-5 records in there were a few slow downs and no matter what we did it continued to get worse. As a last effort we moved to a new known good record half way through it was all drunken sounding again. We immediately filed for a refund and packed both up and sent them on their way.Part 3: (a new hope?)On the way to drop these two useless beautiful items off for amazon returns the thought crossed our minds that maybe we are the problem.. Honestly we can't count it out, lol. So we headed to the dreaded land of yellow price tags to pick up a possible answer to our concerns around total incompetence. While those employed of the land of yellow tags proved to be elusive and useless, a patron (self proclaimed audiophile) approached us as we examined the offerings looking for a suitable player. He claimed that audio-technica was the way to go and pointed out a $400 unit. We waited until he was well clear of us to pick up the $220 ATLP60XBT Bluetooth unit for purchase. Upon getting this unit home we nervously set it up, which should be noted was way easier than the retrolife unit, and paired it with our speaker. Ran one record after another with no issues, like absolutely none! Then moved into trouble records, ones we never could listen to before, and they played flawlessly. While I am sure we will have some issues eventually, we eclipsed the total run time of both now returned units and are truly satisfied with our purchase. Thanks retrolife for providing a heavy reminder that you get what you pay for and if it looks to good to be true it is!
