Saki the spoiled Siamese loves her dry crunchy kibble but she now loves this more than Tiki Cat. Amazon was out of her fish flavor so I did some research and found this cat food to be rated equally as good. I decided to try their chicken since the price was comparable and the first 4 ingredients in this product are meat products. Surprisingly their is also turkey meal and menhaden fish meal in the chicken recipe. The named fish meal is a great source of nutrients and omega fats. The protein content is 41%. All wholesome ingredients with no grain, potato, corn, soy or wheat. Nor does it contain artificial colors or preservatives. I like that it contains taurine for heart health and cranberries for urinary track health. Saki loves freeze dried turkey and it’s the 3rd listed meat. Instinct crushes and tumbles their freeze dried raw with their kibble, ensuring each piece contains a touch of raw coated food which they believe that real less processed whole raw foods the better. Saki has been eating this for a week and picks out this kibble from the mixed in Tiki Cat. The only ingredient I read anything controversial about was tapioca which has a high sugar content, but it’s a good grain substitute not known to cause allergies in pets. Cats are carnivores and this product is loaded with meat content. We have fed our Golden Instinct dog food and the Instinct brand rates very high by the animal review companies. It’s priced higher than some but not outrageous. Better quality food and ingredients will always cost more. You get what you pay for here. Highly recommend even if it’s just to switch brands occasionally for variety. Just be aware of the other non chicken meals if your cat has any food sensitivities or allergies.

The quality of this cat food is great. It’s high in protein and lower in carbs and fillers, which is what cats need. My cat Poet and I (along with his vet) struggled for a long time finding a cat food that works for him that wouldn’t upset his stomach. This is the one that works best for us. He no longer is vomiting as frequently as he was and he’s much healthier and happier. I know this cat food is a little bit on the pricier side, but I do think it’s worth every penny. The only thing about this cat food I would warn about is that the recommended serving size on the bag is 60 more than the calories your cat should be getting in a day if you have an average sized cat. Which doesn’t seem like a lot, but it is for a cat and can cause them to gain a bit of weight. I haven’t had the issue with feeding the serving size to one of my cats, but the other one did gain weight and is now slightly overweight.

My kitty girl, Kiki LOVES this dry food. This is the only thing she eats. I soak them in water to give her extra moisture at night and feed her them dry in the morning. I used to feed her Nulo Kitten/Adult formula and I think she was fine with it. Then I switched to Nulo Indoor Cat formula and she started having loose stool and blood in it sometimes. She also gained 4 lbs. In my opinion, Nulo is a great company and their cat dry food is a very good quality and reasonably priced. I thought of going back to Nulo Kitten/Adult formula but wanted to give this Instinct Original formula a try because it has less fiber, less fillers/carbs and high animal product protein content. Ingredients are pretty clean and great quality, and she LOVES it. I didn’t have to mix with her old food to introduce this food. She ate them straight away and asked for more. She went crazy for it. Her stool looks much better after the switch, lost some weight, and she seems to be more active. I’m happy I made this switch and knowing she’s getting a great nutritions she needs. Something like cat food is really up to individual cat and you can’t just decide based on other reviews. You have to do your own research and choose what’s best for your own cat’s needs but I’m very happy to say that this cat food works great for my kitty girl.

As a former dog groomer and veterinary technician with extensive knowledge of feline skin, coats, and overall health, I’m very selective about what I feed my cats—and I choose Instinct. I always add a bit of water to their food to help support urinary health and reduce the risk of blockages, which is especially important for cats. Instinct uses high-quality ingredients that promote both internal health and a beautiful coat. Yes, it may cost a bit more, but in my experience, it's absolutely worth it. A few extra years with a healthy, happy cat is priceless. If your cat has been eating a lower-quality formula, switching to something more nutritious like Instinct can make a real difference in their longevity and well-being. 10/10—highly recommend.

I was hesitant to try this food at first because my cat is picky and I had just adopted her, so I didn’t yet know what she would like. She absolutely loved it and eats it with no problem. I feel good knowing it’s healthy, made with high-quality ingredients, real chicken, and no grains or harmful additives. I’m glad I gave it a try and will definitely keep buying it.

I have two cats and they love it. I switched from regular protein junk and got them this high protein high quality food and their energy is up and their weight is down. I love it, they love it. We all love it.

This was a five star but We recently switched over to Purina and it is like night and day the quality. I'll give this 4 stars because it held us down for a year or two, but it could be a 3. Our cat sitter recommended Purina and I was skeptical. But, it's an overall better product just to smell of it it'll make you want to have a bowl yourself. But much love to instinct though.

Es muy buen producto. Probé con taste of the wild y también orijen; y creo que instinct está mejor balanceado tanto en calidad y precio. Tiene muy buenos ingredientes que aportan buena cantidad de proteína y tiene un precio muy competitivo comparado con las otras dos marcas. Además, es más fácil de conseguir, al menos aquí en México. Parece que tienen un rico sabor, ya que mi gato siempre deja el plato limpio (cosa que a veces no pasaba con las otras marcas). Y bueno, él está muy fuerte, saludable, siempre tiene energía para jugar, no está gordo (no hay que darle alimento de más), su pelaje brilla mucho y siempre se ve hermoso. Recomiendo estas croquetas.
