For the price - Hands down the best
I've been looking for a good ten-key-less keyboard for a while now. I knew Corsair was a decent brand, but man was i blown away by the actual product. The keyboard itself looks sturdy and not like one of those cheap euro/chinese knock-off brands that are 'budget best sellers' here on Amazon. You can tell that the item itself is a quality item and even while typing on it you can feel confident that it's not some shoddy material. PROS: QUIET - I owned a black widow before this so a switch to the silent cherry mx red was night and day. This baby is quiet, which is great for if you have this in the bedroom and don't want to wake up your S/O SMOOTH - I can honestly say this is the best keyboard I've ever actually typed on. It's smooth, and flows. The strokes feel defined, yet buttery. I LOVE IT! USEFUL BUTTONS - Finally, some useful buttons. There aren't many on the keyboard, but the volume control and light adjustment is really all you SHOULD need on a keyboard. I'm not a big RGB guy - so I don't care if it doesn't change colors or have any variance in that. It's fine by me. CHEAP PRICE POINT - Normally Cherry MX Red keyboards go for a lot more - at this price point I could justify the purchase to my girlfriend without her delivering a knock out to my face. CONS: Sensitive - The keys are REALLY sensitive to the touch - if you're used to a regular mechanical keyboard or plain keyboards, it's a bit to get used to. I find myself accidentally pressing buttons when I really just meant to hover around the key. 10 LESS KEYS - Pro or Con, upto you. Some people like having the additional macro keys like provided on razor or logitech keyboards. I, myself, am past the point where I need 5400 macros to play a game. NO RGB OR CUSTOMIZATION - It's a big deal for a lot of people, and I can't knock them. The color coordination is a big deal for most battle stations and set-ups, so seeing as this one is only read could be a turn off. All in all, I haven't been this happy with a purchase for a long time. I highly recommend it!

Solid compact keyboard and Corsair quality
This is a compact keyboard without the 10 numeric keys (a.k.a. 10-keyless), and the key switches used are called Cherry MX RED. A little research showed that the Cherry switches of various colors denote different key travels, pressures and tactile feedbacks, and they are made by a German company (Cherry MX) with extensive testing and quality control. I thought I'd try this one over a myriad of low cost keyboards. Corsair is a name I came to trust over the years for power supplies, memory and USB drives. The keyboard came with a shipping label slapped on the display box, without any additional packaging outside. The keyboard arrived fine, but I think I will request an Amazon box next time just in case, by checking an option during checkout. The keyboard has a substantial feel to it, heftier than the full size OEM keyboards one often sees. This version has only red lights and not the rainbow colors. The key travels are smooth and quiet without clicking. Of course on bottoming depending on how hard you mashed it, it will make some noise. The RED switch has an operating force of 45g (while some others are 60g). The 4 mm bottoming travel seems just a tad long than common OEM keyboards, but one can get used to it easily. Another Cherry switch would be the Brown, which has the same operating force but will give a tactile bump at 2 mm with the same 4 mm bottoming travel. Maybe I will try the Brown some time. The iCUE software (need to download from Corsair's website), allows adjustment of LED brightness and other functions. The default lighting "pattern" is a sweeping column of light like a wave in a sports arena going from left to right and back again. A button allows the LED to be turned off or adjusted to one of 3 intensity levels. Another button turns off the "Windows" key so the Windows Start Menu does not pop up and block your view in the middle of a game while you are playing. Overall I am impressed with the quality of this keyboard.

Great, inexpensive mechanical keyboard.
You can often pick up the non-RGB version of this keyboard (the K63) for about $60 USD. At that price, this a great mechanical keyboard with real cherry MX red switches. If you've never had a mechanical keyboard, you should know that having actual cherry switches is kind of a big deal. There are a lot of other switches available and some are good, but many are not. If you're wondering if mech. keyboards are for you, this is a good board to try. Good things: - The price - Real Cherry MX switches - Dedicated media and volume keys - Bright red LED backlighting if you like that sort of thing - Windows lock to disable the windows key if you accidentally hit it while gaming Things you should know before you buy: - The control and windows keys are non-standard sizes, which complicates things if you want to use custom keysets. - The usb cable is not removable like you find on many mech. keyboards. Not a big deal for most people, but you can't customize this keyboard with a custom cable without modding it first. - The windows lock feature doesn't have a light to tell you if it's on or off. Not a big deal, but it feels like an oversight. - The area below the keys is actually painted red, so it's red even if the LEDs are off.

A Good Quality Compact Keyboard
There aren't very many frills on this keyboard, which actually makes it a pleasure to use. Key actuation is satisfyingly positive; no hesitation like you find on membrane switches. The media keys do exactly what they're programmed to do, and with Corsair's iCue software it's easy to choose an LED configuration. Since the backlighting on this model is only red, you're losing some of the aesthetic compared to an RGB model. Compact is certainly the way to describe this, so if you want a number pad or a set of programmable macro keys then there are better options. This is a good choice for light typing work, FPS games, and simple RPGs.

Arrived blazing fast. Smooth and nice cherry red mx switches on this one, could probably be better if it had o-rings installed on it. Love the leds, they are all even brightness and functional. I did find the lighting effects software buggy on windows 10. I find them distracting when flashing in my periphery while typing so that doesnt bother me to not use it. No broken keys/switches. This thing is built like a tank. The spec page on corsair site didn't mention that this has a steel inner plate (and its heavy). More expensive ones list this as a feature. Been using it for a week and it takes fingerprints a bit easily. No wrist rest included and its pretty high to the top of the keys. That and the o-rings would make it perfect. Good value at ~$105

There is not many keyboards out there that are Mechanical with cherry mx reds for quiet operating, TKL and have some kind of back lighting. If you like red this is perfect and it doesnt get any cheaper than this for a quality product, if you dont and want RGB youll definitely have to spent more money on something else. Ive been using this for a couple days and even though it takes a moment to get used to a new keyboard, i do approve of this as a solid keyboard purchase that should last a LONG time.
