MECCANIXITY PMMA Side Glow Fiber Optic Cable 3mm 3.0M for LED Light Guide in Home, Hotel

Work great on some projects I've made using SMD LED's that was in a Case used to indicate on and off. Same on the other projects showed charging and full charged.

This is definetly end glow, which is exactly what I needed. I needed to pipe the light from a remote LED indicator light outside a box. I suppose you could make it side glow by roughening up a side with sandpaper. I didn't need (or want) to do this.

I purchased the 3mm optic to transmit the LED from the golf cart charger under the seat to the charge port. It's a bit smaller than I would like, but 3mm is the largest they had. It does work since the mounting plate of the charge port is black, the red or green is easy enough to see. I took off 2 starts because the customer support is terrible. I needed to know the minimum bend radius of this optic because I had to route it from one side of the battery compartment to the other side in the front where the charging port is. I asked them 2 times, and both times they said "The engineers don't have that information". I suggested that they just take a piece, curl it up as tight as possible (without damaging it) and measure the diameter. The radius would simply be 1/2 of the diameter. But NOOOO. They couldn't do that. It took me all of 20 seconds to measure the bend radius to be about 3/8". I hope this information helps someone with the same question.

A little pricey .. a little larger than 3mm. BuuuuT flexible and transmits light well. Recommend for special projects. (Me - fire for model train / railroad stuff..

I had my doubts, but this stuff really works! I used this product to make an indicator light for a bluetooth receiver. The bluetooth device has a tiny blue LED on the circuit board that is illuminated when the device is on. I drilled a hole in the mount plate and then glued this fiber in place. Now I have a strong blue light on the mount plate to tell me when my bluetooth device is on. The fiber is easy to use and I believe a good value for the money.

Easy to cut. Nice glow effect. Used on my NVIDIA GPU to switch an old Fiber out. Good length and good value for the money, super easy to install

I used this to take an LED light inside a machine and send the light thru the fiber and display on a dashboard - worked amazing, I was really happy with the outcome!

I used this to replace the old fiber optic cable on my Asus 1080ti strix. The old cable would not let light through so only one fan would light up. This 3mm is cable i bought is smaller than the original 4mm but it still fits and works great.

User experience (Short term) is satisfactory.

This light pipe is awesome, even lighting from the side works well, even from a distance...upto 12 inches I've tested and still bright led light at the end of the tube. Cut with sharp blade to enhance brightest light level and have a sharp clean edge for the light to pass through.

The side light works ok... Not super bright. Although product info states 3M...the coil I received was only 2.5M so I was short for my project. If you buy, uncoil and measure right away!!!
