Thanks for a good product! The metal base simply screws on to a canning jar or mayonnaise jar; feeding the chicks is fast and the food stays neat and easily accessible. It's especially nice for chick starter feed because of the finer consistency of the feed, but also works fine with both crumble and pellet style feed. Lots of the locally available chicken supplies are made of plastic, but this appears to be well designed and constructed to last virtually indefinitely. Best of all, my new chicks took to it immediately, each one quickly finding her own special feeding hole!

We are very pleased with our chick feeder base from Rocky Mountain Goods. It is exactly as advertised, made well and our chicks have no problem eating out of it. A standard mouth mason jar fits on it. Would definitely recommend for your baby chicks’ feeding needs.

This is a wonderful feeder! I have 12 chicks, and have to refill it about every 6-8 hours. My only complaint is it doesn't screw on the jar securely, so my little roos knock over the jar when it starts getting low to get more feed :)

Good product

We filled a mason jar with feed , attached it to the base and it worked nicely for our baby chicks. Not too much waste at all.

I wanted a good quality metal feeder that was heavy and would last. This one appears to be good quality and should be heavy enough to reduce tips. As to whether it will last, we will see...

I bought this to put dry feed crumbles in for my chicks. They’re less likely to scratch the feed out of this than other baby chick feeders.

Exactly as advertised, great for our bantams and helped to eliminate feed being wasted.
