CAN NOT BE BEAT FOR THE PRICE! OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE!!
I am absolutely blown away by how compact and light weight the unit is. It made me skeptical at first since I doubted anything this size could handle harder materials like stone (but it does with ease!). Second, the quality of build and intuitive controls make this a breeze to set up and start operating. As others have said, you can be up and going within 10-15minutes and that's taking your time. After doing some test runs on the provided materials (also very much appreciated), I set up a slate coaster to see how it would perform. Initially I had set the unit on too high a resolution (2k) and too small but once I figured out my mistake, the subsequent tester was so easy! A few things I wanted to bring up (not so much that they are issues as little grievances). The included hood with fan is much appreciated but it's so effective that I can not see the previews. I guess raising/lowering to view isn't too complicated, but I just want to be sure I'm not wearing things out prematurely. *EDIT* Customer service contacted me and explained how to adjust the brightness so previews are legible through the hood. Super easy adjustment on the app and I can't believe I didn't see it* Last, if it would be possible to have increments labeled on the laser's stand for quick reference, that would be appreciated (I used blue painter's tape to mark my settings for now). Overall, this has been a great investment. I have branded coasters (slate), leather patches, glasses and stainless mugs, and my phone cover with flawless results. It'd be hard to beat this level of quality at this price. You can certainly find cheaper units out there but why waste your time and money on inferior quality results.

This thing is incredible and a game changer
First off I purchased this laser because I am frivolous. Nothing more. My wife would agree. The set up was super easy and I was already lazing my first item within 15 minutes of opening the box. You have to download the lazerpecker app. There are 2 apps. One is a basic one and one is a (studio) app with more options. It connects over Bluetooth to the app with ease. I have tried layering basically everything I own at this point. From yeti mugs that are powered coated to glass, metal, and wood. It does work on metal just fine you might just have to make multiple passes. I have not used any other lasers but this thing is speedy fast. The quality is that of an Apple product. Very high quality aluminum build and I believe that is part of the expensive cost. Should you purchase it? I can’t decide for you but at the hefty price tag I would only purchase it if you plan on selling items or doing custom orders. It takes up little space and looks great sitting next to my desk. Also if you plan on buying this make sure you have a garage or outdoor area to use it in as you definitely do not want to use this in your home. Depending on what you are layering it smells terrible. Overall I can recommend this item to a friend.

Versatile and portable laser etching machine.
Overall I am very happy with this purchase. The Laser Pecker is quick to set up and very easy to begin using with the downloadable app. Fast etching process and have had impressive results with both wood and leather projects. The roller is fantastic for etching coated stainless steel tumblers, but I haven’t had great results with bare stainless steel. I haven’t used the roller to move the etcher itself over a longer distance, but looking forward to giving it a try. I have only owned the laser etcher for about a month and excited to try more materials. The etching area is limited to roughly a 4” x 4” area, but as previously mentioned, if you use the roller you can etch a much longer project (still limited to a 4” height). Positioning the materials under the laser can be time consuming. Using metal rulers, strong magnets, and a cookie sheet, I built a guide to save time when engraving multiple copies of the same project. It has been a time saver. I’ve attached pictures to show what I did.

LaserPecker produces innovative, high quality laser engravers/ cutters!!!
I have wanted a laser engraver for quite some time but given the higher cost of these machines, I wanted to be sure that I made an informed decision. I do recommend that if you’re considering purchasing a laser burner/ engraver, know what it is that you are wanting to accomplish with this machine and then do your research to make sure that the one you choose checks off all of your needs. Initially, I had a basic understanding of the capabilities of a laser engraver but after watching several hours of reviews, that covered the different types of lasers available, as well as side by side comparisons, I was able to narrow down the list of laser engravers that suited my needs. From the beginning, LaserPecker stood out from the rest due to it not requiring a huge portion of real estate on my already crowded work benches. In addition to the its small size and portability, the LP2 set itself aside with its versatility. However, it is important to note that the level versatility is partially dependent upon the accessories you have, The accessories can be purchased separately or as bundle with the laser. There was one consistent complaint with the LP2 and it was the size of the working area and although it is a bit smaller than most, LaserPecker more than makes up for it with an additional accessory. When the LP2 is paired with the rotary /trolley attachment the length that can be engraved or cut is extended by feet. Yes, I said feet!!! This option is an absolute game changer because even the larger lasers rarely can burn or cut lengths of over 2 feet. There are several other specs that i know I haven’t mentioned but this review is far longer than I intended, so overall I’m very pleased with my LP2 and would recommend it to my anyone in the market for a laser engraving/ cutting machine!!!

Do not trust those Youtube reviews!
This laser is definitely NOT powerful enough for any of the advertised materials except for wood. It says it's okay with metal but the laser is definitely not powerful enough for metal etching. If you're planning on starting an etsy store with the LP2, this is definitely going to ruin your product and cost you money. There is no jig so you can't align your products so your print is centered every time. Since there's no jig, you also can't just slide items in and out with the vent shroud on. You have to take off the shroud, align your item, and put the shroud back on. The software is so buggy that if your computer goes to sleep, it will sometimes cause the location of the art to shift to a random place on the laser. The software will show the art at the same place but the laser will laser another area. The worst part of this laser is that the laser power is not consistent in the entire print area! The laser is the most powerful in the center, in around a 1 inch diameter. Outside of the center 1 inch diameter, the laser quickly drops off power so you get inconsistent results. If you want to laser a straight horizontal line, it will literally be faded on the ends and the center is focused. Also there is absolutely no consistency with the laser print. I can laser one that is passable and the next one is completely faded, without changing any conditions. The PC and Mac software is full of bugs. They had an older version of the software that works but it's buggy. The new software that they have on the website doesn't connect at all with bluetooth and forces you to buy the $100 USB dongle to print wirelessly. They also removed the old software so if you don't have a backup of the old software, there is no bluetooth connection. If you are making wood coasters for your family then this works, but if you want to laser any other material or need any consistency then this is NOT a good product.

First laser purchase
This is my first laser engraver, so I have nothing else to compare it with. However, it was easy to setup and start etching some designs using their software. Their software was easy to get up and running as well. I simply brought in a jpeg and started messing around with the settings. So far, it is simple, easy and fun. My only criticism, at the moment, is that the weight of the head unit with light-blocking attachment does pull the etch depth a little deeper into the left edge (side opposite of the Y-axis vertical column) of the design. I have checked the screw tightness and resorted to adding a cardstock shim between the head unit and the L-bracket. This helped level off the unit and the etch depth.

Good hardware, terrible software
The LP2 is a vast improvement over the LP1. Much, much faster, more powerful but all the high tech goodies are seriously hampered by the software, both the phone based and especially the PC based version. I hate having to give this only a 3 star rating because the hardware is much better than that. But the device is only as good as the software that runs it, and in the software is seriously lacking. At this price this is what I'd call a "semi professional" engraver. And while the hardware is what I would call professional grade, the software most definitely is not. The IOS version of the software seems relatively stable but it is ridiculously awkward to try to use it to do professional level work because of the difficulties in trying to get artwork into the app. The only way I can reliably get my artwork from Photoshop into the app is by taking a photo of the the computer screen with the phone and then accessing the photo roll from the app. Then trying to use fingers to properly crop and rotate the image on a cell phone screen... No, sorry, there's no excuse for this. I should not have to import a drawing by taking a picture of the screen. Let me just import the image directly via iCloud or some other cloud service. If the PC software worked properly this wouldn't be a problem. (The PC software at least lets one directly import art from the original files.) But it doesn't work well. The PC software works, sort of, but is riddled with bugs, has no documentation, the controls often don't seem to work at all. Attempting to change the laser power level, depth, etc. seems, as often as not, to result in no actual change in the engraving. The log in procedures, having to enter "unlock" codes and all the rest in the name of "safety" is simply adding to difficulties of using the software. Trying to access the LP2 from a PC via Bluetooth doesn't seem to work at all. The Bluetooth drivers provided by the company won't even install. Well, if you can even find them. Direct connection from the computer to the LP2 via a USB cable seems to be the only way it can be done, but even that will lose connection for some reason, requiring both the LP2 hardware and the program to be shut down and restarted before it can connect again. To sum up, it's a great little laser, well made, good quality hardware, that's crippled by inadequate and buggy software on the PC side, and an awkward and difficult to use APP on the cell phone side.
