Erases easily and leaves no residue
These are so necessary when you are working with minute details on delicate pictures. I love portrait drawings and can capture the exact features as long as I have these handy. No residue and they erase easily.

An excellent tool for precision drawing
I most often work in colored pencil and that means that I'm often sketching in pencil, refining the sketch and then erasing the sketch as I fill it in with color. Having a precision eraser makes all of the above easier. If I'm refining a line often I just want to shave a little bit off of one side, or I'm working near other lines I want to keep. When I'm cleaning up just before I apply color I'm often working near other color that will smudge or be partially erased, which definitely isn't what I want.I've seen reviews where the replacements are hard to put in, but I haven't had that issue. I've not had to replace the eraser yet, but I've pulled it out and put it back in a half a dozen times to check it. That addresses a second fear I had that it wouldn't last very long, but even with daily usage over 6 months I've not used half the eraser in the one it shipped with. I do also use the larger Tombow Mono erasers when I am clearing out large blocks, which is where I think you'd go through this type very quickly. This and other Mono erasers erase fully and quickly and don't damage paper. They do a good job with watercolor in removing graphite either before or after painting too. Even though I've not gone through my first eraser I've bought a couple refills because I know this is one I'm going to want to keep using.

It’s rad! Ups your art game! Lifts highlights, gets into fine areas, rubs out well!
It gets into all the nitty gritty teensy wee spaces. Of course this is why we buy it! But check out HOW good it is! I’ve scribbled 8B, 6B, 4B, 2B, HB aquarelle (Faber-Castelle water soluble graphite) pencils, wet them, let it dry, then did ONE swipe of this eraser through and it StILL rubs out almost all! This is great for lifting out highlights (can get just as teensy as a mouldable eraser tapped to pull off graphite in order to make highlights) and retaining ground on the 8B, 6B & 4B as well as nearly removing all from 2B, HB!On the right, I scribbled a regular graphite pencil (my Fav, a 0.3mm pentel graphigear 1000) and swiped once with this mono zero round eraser and it removed it all! If I really rubbed I could get it all, but wanted to show what could be done with one swipe only! There is nothing better than this. I can make a wide line with a crummy #2 that you’d do an exam with and narrow the line so it looks like fine art.Imagine drawing teeth. Most pencil”s lines are too wide and the teeth will look like a jack o lantern’s. Erase the line so it’s very very thin with this and now they look marvelous! This ups your art game!

Cheaper than buying a new unit
I like using these for small erasures, tight corners, etc. That said, I find it's more economical to purchase refills for my existing unit rather buying a whole new set up. It can be set up as a "subscribe & save" item if you use a lot of these refills. Tombow makes quality art supplies & these are no exception.

Excellent for detailed erasing
A good buy. Useful for anyone working with graphite leads who needs detailed, more precise erasing.

A great little eraser
So far I haven’t experienced any problems with my paper being ripped by the eraser. If you have a lot to erase use a kneaded eraser to get the big stuff. This eraser is good for comic book artists who need to be perfect and architects. But architects use thinner paper so who knows if it will rip the paper. I just don’t have a problem with this eraser using copy paper or Bristol board.
