Scanner does everything I need. I use it over my snap on one. If I would’ve seen this earlier I would never of spent the money on the snap on one. About 3/4 cheaper and does more and offers more. Really good scanner definitely recommend!

I had a launch x431 v4.0 before and bought this one to upgrade. I love the launch scantools. It does 90% of the functions I need. I very rarely have to grab the snap on or autel scanner.For people stuck on the fence between a pro5 or smaller x431v4.0. the only real difference i see is the jbox for programming modules through manufacturers websites. It works well,I have tried it with gm,Chrysler,ford and a couple of others with no problem. I do wish they would send the link to download drivers for the j box because they are a pain to find online but they are out there.It's a great scan tool. The bigger screen is a huge plus.its very easy to use,the topology is a very nice feature that my old one did not have and the battery life is great. I use it all day and have to charge it only once a week. The only problem I have so far is the diagnostic app crashes sometimes when you use Google at the same time but I'm sure that will be fixed with an update.

This scanner is incredibly powerful and easy to use. It has tons of features for diagnostics, coding, and resets. Worked perfectly on several car brands. Highly recommend for mechanics or serious DIYers.

This is actually a very good product. Well thought out. It not only works for cars but also for HD Heavy duty trucks. So all in one ! Just the buyer needs to buy the HD truck software subscription if they need to work on HD trucks also.The tablet with 4GB ram just zooms through fast without any hiccups and the 64 GB internal SSD hard drive like storage is plenty and fast to do any tasks.For those who think that a diagnostic tablet will cover every make and model and every function must wait a very long time. No such thing in the market by any of the makersEven with it's HD module ability it is priced much lower than the other brands and that itself it's functionality for cars and HD vehicles puts it on top. No need to buy two different Systems ! And 5 year warranty ! Excellent deal

From module programming and coding to the system diagnostics , the launch pro5 allows you to handle every car problem easily . e.g. Cleared the p0172 code easily , bi - directionally activate the fuel pump on a GM , and reset the throttle position back to the factory setting ...

Bought this wanting to use the j2534 to program modules. Launch does not support this model in America. I contacted over seas support to find out that they do not have a j2534 software yet for North America. Don’t waste the extra money to get this because if j2534. They have other great models like the x431 pro v4 which does pretty much everything. They have a very weird way to market their scan tools. Multiple scan tools that are pretty much the same but they charge different prices.

This car scanner is awesome and it comes with a variety of adaptors for different makes and models. Not to mention the customer service is top notch as well. As a mechanic for more than 20 years, I always needed a professional scanner for the cars and trucks I work on. This Launch scanner works really well on Honda, Ford, Mercedes.. you name it. I had a small issue hooking it up on a truck I was working on the first time I used the scanner but the technical support got it all sorted out in no time. I was pleased with the experience and this product.
