Can these go directly over grass ? Or do they have to have concrete or something solid underneath to hold up well ??

I would definitely not place these over grassy They will lift and unlock. They need a solid base such as concrete to be laid over.

Will this product work as a beach deck , ie on sand by ocean?

Thanks for your interest in our Wooden Floor Tiles. We recommend placing these tiles on a hard surface such as cement, but not directly on sand, as the decking tiles has plastic spile like feet that may sink into the sand. Hope this helps you.

Is there an end cap ? Using for a front porch
