This works like it should!

Shipping was 2 days, left on the steps, easy to replace broken one (after figuring out what I needed to take appart) works well! It's a 2003 safari work van so not the first and probably not the last time changing the door handle.

PERFECT FIT

This replacement door handle for my 94 Astro van is doing its job. However, I bought this specific one because of the plastic clasp it has for the metal rods. It wraps around the metal rod and holds it in place. My plastic clasp arrived broken, one of the 2 tabs that hold this clasp in place was broken off. Luckily I has the one from my previous door handle. Anyone that has an Astro van knows the driver side outside door handle is a bad design and can last from 6 months to 18 months before breaking or the pot metal bending out of shape and becoming unusable. I bought the $90 (OEM) one early on, and I didn't get a year out of it so I continue to buy the $20 ones. They are easy enough to install most times but you don't know if it will get you through the year.

need a little more throw on rod connecting handle lever to latch lever. I put about 3/8 inches on TOP of the rod. I used three separate twists of bailing wire! (did not have any bubblegum) ha. It was hard to see top of latch lever,so I drilled another1 inch hole above the 1 1/2 one,and pulled it out enough to twist the three wires onto . handle is actually better than oem.

Unfortunately after taking out the old one and spending about 12 hours installing and uninstalling the new part only to find out that my problem was that the part wasn't quite right. It was causing the door not to open. Not sure if it was because of a little different in shape or piece was too long or wouldn't allow door handle to open enough to push rod down enough to open door. I will be asking for a refund.

Fit a 2002 Gmc Safari.

Installation was a nightmare. I’d love to meet the engineer who designed that door and punch him in the face. The way to do it is by drilling a 1 1/2” hole with a hole saw through the metal on the side of the door so you can access the second nut. There are videos on YouTube. No complaints about the handle itself though. Seems to be of good quality and fits like a glove.

Handle is good but the plastic clip is not good on the weak side ...pops out while putting it in the door had use old original one to stay connected to the rod. Otherwise handle is working well and feels more sturdier.
