POWERTEC70292V 4" Cyclone Dust Collection Elbows and Couplers Separator Kit for Woodworking Debris Containers, 1 Set

Almost gave these 3 stars because I feel like they are overpriced for what they are but they work very well and honestly I couldn't get pvc pipe fittings any cheaper so 5 it is.I attached these to the lid of a 32 gal round plastic trash can with a snap down airtight lid and ran my dw735 planer to them with a 2.5" reducer and a rubber coupling. The trash can catches 99% of the sawdust which I'm happy with. I used to use a vortex and a bucket and the blower on the planer would blow the top off the bucket plus it would fill up every 45 seconds. Fittings and garbage can I'm down 40 bucks and I don't have two inches of sawdust on the floor anymore.That being said I also run the trash can with these fittings as stage 1 of 3 when I'm vacuuming up large amounts of sawdust off the ground. Stage 2 is the vortex in the bucket, stage 3 is a bag at the dust collector. Again stage one catches all the larger particulate, about 90%. Stage 2 spins out the smaller particulates, 90% of the remaining. The bag only gets some of the ultra fine dust that managed to run the gauntlet.Sawdust mostly managed.

I bought this to convert a new trash can into a precollector of sorts for my HF dust collector and it does the trick. It was pretty easy to do, I just cut a couple of pieces of scrap plywood to fit the top of the plastic garbage can, drilled the two holes and installed it between my planer and my dust collector. I'd guess 98% of the sawdust/chips from planing end up in the precollector and my bag for my collector stays empty - until the garbage can gets over 2/3 full.. I just pop the cover, empty it and go back to planing. So much easier than emptying that silly plastic bag system on my HF collector.Does this system replace a multi thousand dollar dust collector system? Nope. Does it filter every thing over 5 micron - nope. But it works, does what it was designed to do and does it well. Real time saver.

If all this kit did was drop mostly everything into the barrel, and not endanger the blower (or clog the blower inlet), I'd be okay with that.I plan on up sizing the ductwork to six inches, though.

Amazing product and works well for what it is. Added a dust deputy to my dust collection in the shop for cheap with a barrel I already had on hand.

Nice cheaper than dust deputy to do the same thing. I would have to return this then wait all over again to get the missing clamps. If u buy this expect it to be missing clamps so consider that for the price. I wont be returning but it still sux expecting not to have to buy clamps then turn around and have to buy them. Seller should take clamps out of description and pics so people know what theyre buying
