Bipod Rocks - In a Good Way!
Needed a Bipod for my wife's MSR and after much research landed on the Atlas. Ordered via Amazon and arrived on time in good shape. Installed in just a few moments. Works as advertised and appears to be well made and should last a lifetime. Like the fit/finish of the item. Like the options of the various feet and leg extensions. The pan/tilt feature are highly appreciated. Amazon price was the best I could locate within the time frame I needed. Outstanding job Atlas!

A very solid and very adjustable bipod.
At first I thought that I would need something that would extend a little longer, after using it for a while it seems to be just right. I like the adjustability of the bipod and the way it articulates to ajust for an exact precision shot. I would recommend using a bubble with this bipod to assure a level platform before taking the shot. When the leggs are fully extended it is a little loose where the leggs attach to the quick adjustment sleeve. I wish it was a little more firm as the leggs extended; however, it does seem to "plant" well when shooting.

Stellar Piece of Kit & Worth the Price
Yes, this is more expensive than the other Bipods you are looking at. It is worth it. You will be clad you got it. This is a stellar piece of kit. Mine lives on an AR10 and I freaking LOVE it. I'll probably end up getting a second one.

Impressed & Disappointed
At first glance I was impressed with the overall build quality and looks of this bipod. It wasn't until I put it to use that it's flaws came to surface. When I first put the Atlas V8 bipod on my rifle it felt solid. Moving the legs forward and back felt good with absolutely no play. Once I extended the legs I noticed how much play there was in them. This wasn't just a little play, they wiggled quite a bit. At this moment all my feelings of this bipod being of high quality began to dwindle. Once I stared shooting and adding some preload I noticed my rifle moving forward. The second big flaw with the Atlas Bipod is the the legs rotate so when you push forward with your rifle the legs will turn. At this point I was very disappointed. I can deal with the slop when the legs are extended but the rolling forward was unacceptable. For what this bipod costs compared to others this should not happen.Once home I began to search the various forums to see if others have experience these same issues. It seems that these flaws are common and have been observed by many others as well. In my search I did discover that Atlas makes another model almost identical to this one but with the letters "PSR" or Precision Sniper Rifle. The difference between the PSR and standard V8 model include non-rotational legs, fore and aft pivot limiting bosses and a 40% stronger Inner leg.If your already investing into an Atlas bipod skip the V8 model. For $40 more get the PSR and don't look back. The PSR model is the one you want, you won't regret it.
