Moves a lot of air, but did not reduce A/C cooling costs
This installed fairly easily (easy attic access here) and it really moves a lot of air. I like the bluetooth connection that shows the temp and humidity, although it only seems to update about every 10 min. No issues with connectivity distance, it connects from anywhere in my house. And the low/med fan settings are mostly unnoticeable noise-wise, while on high you can hear the hum from the rooms on that side of the house. I learned the hard way this needs to be installed on the downwind side of the house from the prevailing wind, otherwise it's working against the natural flow. Also from weeks of testing and measuring I can say with proper attic insulation the attic temp has very little to do with the temp inside inside the house. My attic is consistently 20-30 degrees hotter than outside temps, and I installed this fan to lower the temp up there while I was installing new attic insulation. It definitely helped, lowering the temp about 10 degrees if it ran all day, but the real fix for lowering the temp inside came from adding R-38 insulation and sealing all the air leaks that were blowing cold A/C air into the attic. This fan was a life saver for the days I was working up there but after installing insulation there is no difference in the inside temp of my house running it vs. not. After more testing I'll likely purchase their whole house fan to cool the house off quickly when the sun goes down.

Simply Amazing!!!
We live in northern UT where summers can routinely get into the 90's during the day and cool off into the high 50s overnight. This fan has allowed us to open up the house at sundown and then close the windows around 8 or 9am the following morning. It is mid-July and we have not run the AC once this year even with outside temps as high as 95. The inside temp of the house has only gotten up to 79 degrees once. Most days it tops out at 76-78 degrees in the late afternoon. This fan really does a great job in keeping the attic significantly cooler. The fan is a little louder than I would expect but I love the fact that it is variable speed and only kicks up to high speed (i.e. more noise) during the late afternoon, as soon as its starts cooling off in the evening, the fan slows down and becomes much quieter. You do need to ensure you have enough airflow, and in our case we ended up increasing the size of our gable vent to allow for better airflow from the fan to outdoors. We also ensure we had a pretty tight enclosure for the fan to mount to so that the fan could work at peak efficiency. That said, installation was basic and straight forward. I anticipate that this fan will pay for itself from energy savings in less than 2 years by not needing to run the AC nearly as often.

Additional Specs
UPDATE 10/16/2025 - Firmware update 3.9 added manual control for fan speeds and an OFF function. Nice. - Bluetooth signal has decayed to one bar in the same location that achieved five bars at installation five months ago. I will update if QuietCool provides a solution. But if the decline continues at the present rate, the fan will no longer respond to commands in another couple months. ***** Be aware ... - As a result of a household power interruption, the fan will not automatically resume running. It will remain OFF …it will remain off until it is physically powered back on using the app. - When time expires using “Timer Mode” the unit switches OFF. It will not resume “Smart Mode.” So, one cannot temporally override Smart Mode - for whatever reason - and expect the fan to automatically switch back to Smart Mode. - Which leads to this shortcoming: The fan cannot be controlled via Wi-Fi. So, if either of the two previously noted conditions occur, your fan will remain OFF - your attic will remain hot - until you return home. Although the controller is Wi-Fi enabled - which is how firmware is updated - the device cannot be controlled via Wi-Fi. - Also, the app provides no OFF button. One has to set a time in Timer Mode - minimum one hour - and allow the time to expire. - Computer balanced fan blades: Close, but not balanced. The fan vibrates. Other than these observations, the fan performs as advertised. It pulls scorching-hot air out of the attic so the R30 does not have to separate me from 160F. The fan motor runs quietly and is power-efficient (though I’ve not actually verified the current). Would I buy another? Yes. Would I recommend it to friends? Yes. Is there a better choice? No. It would be helpful, however, if QuietCool would polish the app and controller a bit. I would even be willing to qualify a prototype.
