Awesome value for the money.
Likes: + Wonderful value, as other solutions cost MUCH more. + HomeKit provides garage door status right on your apple utility screen, which is awesome if you are away or going to bed and worried about the door being closed. + Easy Setup in Apple HomeKit by scanning a QR code + Nice long cable for door closure sensor + Is compatible with a ton of garage door openers. + Don't need to use the app to operate, if added to HomeKit Dislikes: - Would be nice to have a long wire for the opener circuit - Door sensor is hard to place (at least for my door opener) - Would be nice if the module had some screw-down capability Firstly, this thing is just great and installing it was really easy. My wife especially likes being able to open/close the garage door from her Apple Watch and get status at a glance. I did have a minor installation issue, however, but it's not really a fault of the product. My garage door is the type that has a wire rope running down each side with a spring-loaded torsion bar across the top. Initially, I tried to place the door closure sensor (magnetic) on the side of the door, but it just hit the cable when opening the door. I then tried to place it on the door next to the track, but the stationary (wired) part of the sensor just got run-over by the track wheels. Placing the sensor on TOP of the door, however, worked great. I was able to drill some pilot holes and use sheet metal screws to keep the moving portion fixed to the door while some wood screws affixed the stationary portion to the frame on the garage. Routing the cable up and over the torsion bar kept it safely out of the way from any moving parts. This is by far the easiest configuration for the sensor. As for the opener, I wanted to have it on the wall where it would be serviceable as opposed to overhead on the belt-driven opener, as the instructions suggest. To do this, I was able to use a light-gauge extension wire (twisted pair) and tap into the garage door opener button already mounted to the wall. Since it's just a two-wire system and shorting the circuit opens/closes the door, it seems you can extend it 20' or more without any issue. It would be nice if an extension wire were included, as this type of install seems nice. Regarding mounting the unit, it comes with double-sided tape but it would be nice to have some holes for wall-mounting, as I chose to do. It's pretty lightweight, however, so even some screw-down zip-ties could do the job. All said, I love this thing and will update the review if anything goes wrong!

Great solution and simple to install
My two Craftsman vintage (translate: extremely old) garage door openers behave now like products of this century! The following comments are based on a two adjacent door installation. Pros: The configuration and bench test process is simple and fast. The app walks you through the process step by step and you can come back to where you stopped in case you didn't finish. The app references an early video that offers some useful tips but it depends on your particular door configuration. As soon as I added this device in my Meross app, it quickly connected with Alexa and appeared there as well. Meross provides you with everything that a standard installation may require. The video says that one of the sensor cables was a bit short. Meross may have taken that feedback into account, as I didn't find that to be the case. I actuall had to roll up and tie the excess length. Cons: Somewhere I read or heard about possible interference with the existing remotes. I seem to be expereincing that, as I now have to be closer to the garage door to activate the opener with its corresponding remote. I have enough spare wire left from the loops, so I will try repositioning the controller to see if that solves the issue. Some advice: While the prduct itself is designed with installation simplicity, positioning and fixing the magnets and the sensors can have its issues depnding on the configuration of the door. I figured that installing the magnet on the side of the door and the sensor on the frame next to it. That was very simple until I noticed that the magnet will end up getting inside the roller channel after the curve. Back to the drawing board! In my case, I found that the best place was to mount the magnet on top of the door and the sensor opposite to it on the wall. To ensure total clearance when the door opens, I placed the sensor about 2" above the edge of the door and raised the magnet with a small block of wood. Perfect clearnce and no interferences. Meross recommends a maximum 1" spacing between the magnet and the sensor to ensure correct operation. While the bench tests showed that ther was margin above that, I erred on the cautious side and provided a 1/4" spacing between the magnet and the sensor. It works perfect. As of this writing, I have not yet tried the other built-in features such as a notification when the garage door has been left open for a certain amount of time and if there is a possible automatic action in such case. What we know is that we can now not just check the status of the doors when far away (we could do that with the cameras), but also be able to do someting about it.

Best Smart Home Alexa-Integrated Garage Door Opener
This is the best smart home garage door opener. Over 10 years ago, I used a product called Garagio to do this and it was pretty good, but they got bought out by another company and that company forced the old product to stop working with the Alexa app so that you'd have to buy their new version. Their new version was expensive and it sucked. It required batteries, would only do one door and was twice as expensive as this, and after all that, the Alexa-integration was useless as Alexa would never understand the skill name. Both of those required telling Alexa the skill name, such as "Alexa tell Garagio to open the garage door". This product was really cheap, really easy to install, and works great, there are no useless batteries, it can do both garage doors, and you don't have to use the Alexa skill name, so the voice control is much more natural. You can just say "Alexa open the garage door" and she'll do it. Although if you use more than one door you'll need to give them unique names like "Alexa open the right door". There's nothing bad to say about this product, it is exactly what I wanted. The only thing I can say negative about it, is that you must give it a verbal PIN number to open the door. But that is not the fault of this product, that is a new requirement by Amazon Alexa for security. You can close the doors without a PIN, but you must give a PIN to open a door. Giving the PIN isn't horrible, I just wish there was an option to not do that like these products worked a decade ago, but like I said, that's not the product's fault, that's Amazon that is requiring that. If you want smart home garage opener, this is the one to get. They could double the price and I'd still say this is the one to get, because I've used others that are double the price and they sucked.

Wish Wifi Was Stronger
I find the garage door opener remote reliable and really easy to install and use. It integrates smoothly with both Apple HomeKit and Alexa, which makes controlling the door super convenient. It’s a great value for the money and definitely feels like a smart investment for upgrading a standard garage setup. That said, the Wi-Fi signal seems a bit weak. When the connection is strong, the door operates perfectly and responds right away, but if the signal drops even slightly, it can be a little unreliable. I’ve noticed it works best when the router is close to the garage. Overall, despite the occasional connection hiccup, it’s a solid and smart device that makes daily use much easier.

Great product!
Straight forward install, I watched a video on YouTube to see how others installed which made it easier as it gave visual cues. Once added to HomeKit you’re able to open and close the garage door through HomeKit. It even allows you to add to Amazon Alexa if you have that. Definitely recommend this if you have a compatible garage door opener. Like in the pictures I tacked the cords so they were clean looking and not hanging. I think the price is worth it for peace of mind.

Best way for smart garage door remote
This is not a promotional, paid, or promised gift review; I am doing this because this product deserves a great review. I’ve had a My-Q system for several years, that kind of worked. Very much a pain to hook up, it would notify me that my doors were open when they weren’t, and changing batteries involved a ladder. But then one door failed, and customer service could not solve the problem without recommending replacing that $150 control board. Then I found this Meross product. I figured what do I have to lose with something so inexpensive. But this is amazing and should be selling for much more. The unit itself is about the size of a deck of cards with an antenna and some plug-in ports. One goes to the USB power supply. Then each door has its own long wire. [The unit can run 3 doors, the kit comes the wires for 2 doors.] One end plugs into the Meross. The other end is the door sensor, which is similar to most alarm system magnets. The wire is already attached to one end, and I screwed this to the wall just above the top of the garage door. I screwed the other magnet to the top of the garage door. It comes with double sided tape, but I felt better putting in screws. There are options, instructions and brackets to how to attach to the J-channel, but the method I used was super easy. Then the 2 wires in the middle of the long wire plug into the back of the door opening motor. I don’t know how this could be simpler. My case was slightly different in that I have two different kinds of Liftmaster motors. These needed accessory kits, that Meross sent right away. It took two different accessory kits for the different motors, but both were easy. The accessory kit is a small box that attaches to those two wires in the middle of the long wire. Then you program that box to the learn button for the garage door. Still, hooking up the accessory kit was maybe 2 minutes and incredibly easy. The app for my phone works perfectly to both tell me the status of the doors and also to allow me to open or close them. You can set times to be alerted, such as a reminder the door has been open for 15 minutes. You can tell the app to automatically close the doors at night just in case your forgot. You can also open/close the doors through Alexa. Note that the units starts beeping before it closes a door to warn anyone around that the door is closing. The Meross unit communicates to the app via your WiFi. This was no problem for me and my detached garage 50’ behind my house as I already use PowerLine to send WiFi to the garage for Nest cameras, TV streaming, etc. But if the distance to your WiFi router is too far, you might need an extender. What I definitely appreciated during setup is that it told me the strength of the WiFi signal it found, which was a very nice touch. I had a couple of occasions to contact customer support to make sure I had ordered the correct unit and arrange for the accessory kits. They always responded right away. In short, I simply do not know how you could find a better deal on a smart remote garage door system.

Works great
Not too much of a hassle to install, but the door sensor was a bit difficult to place due to my door. I appreciate the HomeKit integration, but the other smart home support is always good. Its really small design is convenient so placing it was really simple. I appreciate the 3 door capability although I only need 2. The app was a little confusing to navigate, but I was finally able to remove the 3rd door option from both the app and HomeKit. I saw some people complaining about it occasionally interfering their original garage remotes, but I personally haven’t had that issue. Overall it works great and for being one of the only devices in its category with HomeKit integration it’s great.

Easy install, alexa integration and app have some shortcomings
UPDATE 02-28-2025: This is a big shout-out for Meross customer service. My old Liftmaster motor burned out, and I had it replaced with a new Chamberlain model, only to learn that my Meross opener was not compatible with my new lift motor without an additional accessory. I contacted Meross customer service, and they immediately sent me the accessory free of charge. It arrived less than a week after calling them. It was very easy to hook up, and now my Meross opener is again working with the app and Alexa. Keeping the original 4-star rating however as I continue to hope Meross will add a feature to keep sending me reminders when I forget to close the garage until I actually do it. As it stands now I just get the one reminder, and if I don't see it or space it, I don't get another and the door remains open. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Installation was pretty straightforward on my 20+ year-old Lift Master/Chamberlain opener. Install took about an hour, but I wasn't rushing it. Before ordering this I did the the suggested test of jumpering the two contacts connected to the manual open button with a pair of pliers, it worked fine, so I went ahead and put in the order. The first two photos show the unit mounted on top of my opener, with the wire connected to the two contacts that trigger the door to open or close. The third photo shows the magnetic switch that tells the unit the garage door is closed. I mounted the loose one to the top of the garage door, and the wired one to the wall just behind it. I tried the double-stick tape provided with the opener, but it didn't work at all (almost lost the loose one when it fell off) so I screwed them in. I have them mounted at a right angle to each other rather than directly facing, and they work fine that way. The app installed and set up with a few minor glitches, but I kept at it and it's working fine. I particularly like the overtime notification that lets me know if I've forgotten to close the garage - more on this in a bit. I wish the app allowed me to choose the alert tone, so I'd know without looking at my iPhone that I was getting a message from the Meross opener. As it is, it only allows me to use the phone's default tone, so when something comes in I'm not sure if it's a text message or any number of other things my phone alerts me to with the same tone. Alexa integration is OK, but could be more full-featured. Alexa tells me when the door opens, and I can open/close the door with a voice command, but the overtime warning (a critical piece for my increasingly forgetful brain) does not integrate to Alexa. I would love it if Alexa would give me a voice message if my garage has been left open and keep repeating it at regular intervals till I close it - but as it is now I have to depend on my phone to provide that, and again, it's the same alert tone as almost everything else. Also the phone only alerts me once, and I'd like to be able to set it to keep nagging me till I shut the darn door. I hope future app upgrades can address these issues. Overall, I like the unit. It allows me to check the status of my garage door when I'm not home, alerts me when it opens (both via the app and Alexa), and alerts me when I've forgotten to close it (sadly only via the app). I now have the app on my phone and my wife's phone, giving us both the ability to monitor and control the garage door. And the price is hard to beat.
