is it made in USA or Switzerland?

Mine was made in Switzerland. I got mine as a Christmas present in 2018. and it's still 100%. I have never had a problem with any Alpine Swiss product I have owned.

can you fit some cash, an id, and 11 plastic and 8 paper cards while still being able to close the wallet?

Hello. The item comes with Divided double bill section, 1 ID window, 9 horizontal credit card slots and 4 vertical pockets. PRO TIP – 4 vertical pockets under the card slots add a tremendous amount of carrying capacity. If you need to double up cards, use front or back card slots of the wallet. Use the center flap only for single cards to maintain a slimmer profile.

I'm not sure what it's made of but its pretty strong. I bought one in June 2015 and it didn't break until July 2020 and I liked it so much I bought another one. 5 years is pretty good.
