Superb Wrench SPBW-6 Metal Water Filter Housing Wrench (3.86 inch Inside Diameter)

Wow. Can we say over engineered. On the expensive side for the purpose but not too expensive for the quality. This will outlast the house.

Used this on my neighbor's stuck filter housing. Broke two plastic ones on previous tries. Almost stripped the housing tabs getting the housing to loosen, but worked fine. Although not needed for most jobs, this allows one to get overly tightened housing off to replace filter. Just a bit pricey, but product of high quality and will last forever.

Although a bit pricey, this tool saved me hours of frustration and changing the whole-house water filters is no longer something I dread. The plastic "tool" included with many household cylinder systems is a complete joke and will eventually break, leaving you struggling with a strap wrench every time. If you've worked with strap wrenches you know they don't grip when wet. Save yourself the time and frustration and get this uni-tasker. Despite having no other use (that I have found) it is worth every cent.

For sixteen years, I have been using the plastic wrench, which came with my Aquapore AP101T water filter. When the wrench did not turn the housing, I would hit it with a hammer to get the housing turning. This method worked until finally the wrench cracked.So, I ordered the metal wrench. While the plastic wrench had a four inch handle, my new metal wrench has a twelve inch handle. This added length really increases the mechanical advantage of the metal wrench. It was fairly easy to turn the filter housing without having to use a hammer. I am happy with the metal wrench. I expect it to last for as long as I have my water filter.

Changing our whole-house filter used to be a huge annoyance and chore. It never came off easy, always a struggle, then the thing broke! I bought this one with the long handle based on reviews - WOW it's so much easier to change our filters now, I do it regularly on schedule, I put an appt on my phone called "Suberb wrench" to do it monthly.

Looks good, rugged, have to wait to use it to remove filter.

So much better than the plastic wrenches...
