Q: How are they for heavier runners? Looking more for comfort then a fast time.

I am well over 200 and run/walk in Brooks Glycerins, but I wear the Ghosts for everyday wear. The pair of Ghosts I'm in are still going strong after 4 or 5 years. I'm sure they have hundreds of miles on them and need to be retired but they're not really ready to be thrown out just yet. I agree with Alex -- get properly fitted and if the Ghost or Glycerin works, you should be good to go. Either will work great; I just prefer the Glycerin for running.

Q: Replacing older ghost 11. size is 9 and width says narrow (b). what is the width of a standard size 9?

The standard or medium width for a men's shoe is D, so the narrow width is a B width.

Q: I wear 10.5 in sketchers, are brooks the same

I have never had a sketchers so cannot answer....let me say this, I have worn Brooks, Saucony, and several other shoes and my size (11.5EE) (or in case of Saucony 11.5W) has always fit other shoes the same.
