Comprehensive 2 year review Pros and Cons
I purchased this pitcher in the year 2020. It is now 2022, and after religious use, many clumsy dings, and different drinks from steaming hot, to freezing cold, this pitcher had held up to its standards. I had placed cold water directly after a hot drink, and hot boiling water directly after taking the pitcher out of the fridge. I've used this for just about everything, juice, hot tea, coffee, any liquid from boiling to freezing. It is been heated and cooled down hundreds if not, thousands of times over the past years. I dinged it a bit on the countertops, park tables, BBQ grill, with and without content, and this pitcher survived. Don't get me wrong I am careful as possible with the pitcher, it is glass after all, but small mishaps and miscalculations when setting this down on a surface won't get to you. Below are Pros, Cons Pros - Can withstand about 300 maybe more degrees Fahrenheit of boiling water - Can boil straight out from an open flame stove or elecrtic stove - Can withstand cold water - Can withstand rapid temperature changes - Small dings and bounces with thick double-layered glass are not going to be detrimental to Pitcher's health, this is still glass so make sure you are putting it on a nice flat surface without any protrusions or solids which can crack the bottom at its own weight - Easy to use and clean - The price is ridiculously worth it, and it is cheaper even now! Cons - can be heavy - Glass is still breakable as with all glass containers Borosilicate glass is literally the same glass we use in chemistry and biology class, those glasses are heated, cooled with all types of liquids, including acid. At times we heat them up with a blow torch then drive them straight into ice. If you are looking for a good glass pitcher, on which you won't abuse as much as glass beakers, get this one. Both are made of the same type of glass. it is unfortunate for people who had broken theirs, and there is also the possibility of human error or foul play to get a refund back.

Great pitcher
Love this lightweight pitcher. I just want to keep cold water in the fridge, but it offers other benefits as well. If you want to create fruit or vegetable infused flavored water, the strainer lid will keep the particles out when you pour yourself a glass. That will also work to keep out pulp from orange juice if you don't like that, and of course would be great for freshly made tea either with leaves or bags immersed. About the orange juice... what if some family member likes pulp in their juice and others don't. By using this pitcher, you can satisfy both, by leaving the lid on or removing it when pouring. The handle is generous and works for big hands as well as small, plus it's sturdy, but the glass itself is very lightweight. That makes a big difference when the pitcher is full of liquid, especially if it will reside on a top fridge shelf, like in my fridge, and needs to be lifted down. I don't have the arm strength I once did and greatly appreciate the lighter weight. The pitcher is also attractive enough to serve water or whatever at the table, and because it's lightweight is easier to pass and handle when sitting down.

Excelent heat resistance, Good pitcher overall
I purchased this pitcher one year ago specifically because it is made of a type of glass that can handle sudden changes in temperature without shattering. I'm lazy, so I like to pour the boiling water directly into the pitcher when I make iced tea. This pitcher has performed phenomenally over the last year, so I bought a second one. Things that I like: 1) Can take boiling water without cracking 2) Parts are metal and glass, so the pitcher and lid will last a very long time (no rubber or plastic that can degrade) 3) Built-in strainer in the lid 4) Dishwasher safe, but also easy to clean by hand because of the large mouth Things that could improve: 1) The pouring quality is about average. Minor changes in manufacturing make the spout slightly different from pitcher to pitcher, so my second pitcher actually pours much better than my first. With my first pitcher, there is always a small dribble of liquid after pouring because the liquid clings to the spout. 2) The handle is not bad, but it could be more ergonomic. Overall, I liked this pitcher so much after a year that I decided to buy a second one, and both perform very well.

Great iced tea/water pitcher.
Love this pitcher. Would give it 5 stars but the edges of the mesh filter tend to fray leaving a sharp edge when cleaning the strainer. Otherwise works great for the iced tea I make in it - goes from stove top to counter top to fridge seamlessly.

Exceeded my expectations & is used EVERY DAY in my home for hot tea. I LOVE IT - 8 years later!
A glass pitcher that can take boiling water! I have been searching for several years to replace a similar pitcher I accidentally dropped on the floor and smashed. This is a nice size for making hot tea in the morning for the entire family and I can serve it right from the pitcher. I should add, we boil water in an electric tea kettle to save energy as well as wear and tear on this carafe. By not putting it on the induction stove, it keeps the handle from getting heated each day. I also use it to brew hot tea to eventually make into iced tea. I let the tea cool to room temp and then place the whole thing in the refrigerator. The top fits snugly but not so tight that it is a battle to get it off. The handle, which looks like it is too thin is PERFECT for your hand and it holds the weight of the pitcher full with liquid. I have been using this EVERY DAY since it arrived, and I might just buy another as a backup! I don't believe this glass pitcher can be recycled with regular glass because it has been treated to make it heat-resistant. This Borosilicate glass is like Corningware and Pyrex, you have to find a bulk recycler who takes those kinds of glass. If this ever cracked, I'd glue it and use it to grow herbs on the patio or something. I am simply THRILLED with this product. UPDATE: on July 11, 2020 - FIVE YEARS LATER & this thing is going strong! we make a pitcher of HOT tea in it every morning. what we don't drink, we leave in the pitcher and put in the fridge. Then, we drink from it all day long. We wash it by hand for convenience. The handle, which looks fragile, is still perfect. I believe this is because we boil our water in an electric tea kettle and don't expose the handle to the heat of a stove. Update 2023 - still going strong EIGHT YEARS AFTER PURCHASE! The only minor inconvenience is that the top is getting a little beat up from daily use. But really, 8 years of daily use and THAT is all I have to whine about? Even the price has lowered since I bought it, so I am going to buy another one for the day when I might actually smash this thing. I am not sure that day will ever come, but I rely on this pitcher so much that my entire morning would be messed up if I didn't have it. I was washing it by hand but eventually, I let it go in the dishwasher and it came out nice and sparkling clean with no cracks. My wife has sometimes used this to make iced drinks and she'll brew the iced tea or coffee right on the stovetop IN the pitcher and then dump ice in it. I wanted to scream at her "don't jinx it!" I didn't dare, but I had that look on my face and she just said "Dude, it is Borosilicate glass. It's the stuff test tubes are made out of." I still recommend heating your water in an electric tea kettle because it is a fast and cheaper use of energy but, I won't give my wife the horrified look anymore when she heats it on the stove. But really, use an electric kettle like the rest of the world. I might die before this pitcher breaks.

Versatile, Hard Working, and Sleek Design
Love it! We bought two for ourselves and now starting to give as gifts! So versatile!! Lightweight, heat resistant. Perfect to make a pitcher of iced tea , which we always have in hand! So pretty to serve in we purchased a second one to have for homemade lemonade, which is a staple at our house too! Just purchased one for my mother in law for a Mother’s Day gift. She keeps iced tea on hand too and loves that’s it goes from stove to fridge, then fridge to table. Old school quality, and sleek updated design. Super easy to clean with the long-handled sponge 🧽 that comes with ur. Almost too pretty to be so functional! Looks great on a serving station with Crystal Light or cocktails! Perfect wedding shower gift. It will quickly become a favorite for them too!

Perfect for steeping hot tea!
Excellent product. You can taking boiling water and pour it directly into the pitcher - it doesn't crack. No worries about leaking plastics into your tea, as the pitcher is glass. The handle does not get hot, but the top does as it is made of metal. It holds 68 ounces as advertised. The only thing I can't speak to is if it breaks easily. I assume it would if you dropped it. Easy to clean. It came with a sponge brush and the opening is large enough that I can stick my hand in. Arrived timely and well-packed for shipping. Would definitely buy again. Update: Been using this now for 3-1/2 months. Absolutely love it. One of the best products I have ever bought.
