Why did this item go up by 49.5% in less than 2 months?

Because soft wash has exploded and everyone is buying these it sucks. And I hear these are not very reliable. A lot of defective ones getting through but it's still cheaper than the other options

At 5 does t provide full flow through the valve or is it still somewhat restricted?

A large volume of water flows through and, without testing, I would say it is full flow.

Do the numbers represent percentage?

I'd say yes, if you look at the actual valve inside, off is closed , each number is the valve opening more and more until its fully opened. This valve is real Pentair,, buy this .Others on Amazon are cheap knock offs with wrong threads, won't work. This will!
