Excellent Laptop Backpack for the Road Warrior
Only had it a couple of weeks, so I can't speak to long-term durability. Very well-organized laptop pack. Description says a small 17" laptop will fit, but my 17" (1 3/16" thick) engineering workstation fits, albeit snugly. Well-padded laptop compartment. Lots of external pockets for everything I need. Cavernous compartment for files, notebooks etc. My portable 17" monitor just fits in there, along with my notepad, several file folders, an umbrella and my rain shell. I am a consultant and travel every week. There is plenty of room for all the devices and cables that I need. Pockets are designed so that the pack is low-profile and will fit under any seat in any aircraft. Customer service is fantastic. I accidentally broke off my sternum strap, so I called to get a replacement...they replaced the entire laptop case! Very comfortable fully loaded on my back with plenty of padding and comfortable shoulder straps. Sternum strap is highly adjustable and slides up and down on a rail. I'm 6', 200 pounds and I have the shoulder straps adjusted at the full length. Anyone larger might need to extend those straps. If you like to carry a water bottle, it doesn't accommodate them well. I just put mine in the main compartment.

The best possible solution for the Road Warrior, whether a daily commuter bag or for air travel.
I spent an extended period of time looking at backpacks to carry my Lenovo W541 I use for work. I finally opted for the OGIO Renegade because of the numerous reviews and build quality that OGIO has put into their products. I was originally using a Logitech KINETIK 15.4 Backpack that began to fall apart at the seams, literally; the main zipper compartment began fraying at the zipper in the corners. This was when I looked hard at OGIO but was reluctant because of the cost of their products, however after watching numerous videos and watching numerous road warriors stick copious amounts of gear in the bag effortlessly, I was pretty convinced and took the plunge. When I received the bag I was very satisfied with my purchase because of the build quality I had mentioned earlier; the entire construction of the bag was better than most of the other backpacs I've used over my lifetime, including Jansport's and Eastpak's. The layout is very dynamic, having specific pockets that were designed for things like a water bottle, your AC adapter, a dedicated laptop pocket that did not require opening up the main pockets, a isolated and protected eyeglass pocket, a table pocket, etc. The design of the bag is such that each pocket allows you to put lots of additional gear in them without occupying too much space in other pockets, especially the main front pocket which is made for your personal items, small accessories like wireless mouse, wallet and keys; I keep a large pair of over-ear Denon headphones (Urban Raver) in the very front pocket and still have lot's of space in the secondary pocket where the tablet pouch is. I also keep an 18650 battery charge and small screwdriver toolkit as well as an Amazon Basic's Universal Travel Case for Small Acessories and Electronics which holds all my vaping gear and still have lots of additional room. The suspension system that is used for the laptop pocket is one of the more intelligent designs I've seen for laptop bags, allowing the carrier to have a dedicated pocket that doesn't intrude to the other storage areas and protects the laptop from drops. The bag was obviously designed with the 'Road Warrior' type traveler, having lots of options for storage that the carrier can decide how to use. The other great feature of this bag is the stitching and riveting; the bag has double stitches in high tension areas as well as rivets for the main bag handle at the top, something that is lacking in many other bags of similar design. My only negative about this bag would come down to the straps; I'm a short, stocky guy who must pull the straps to their longest position to use this bag effectively, however the quality of the straps is of high grade materials and I have no fear that they are going to give out at any time. There is also some good design implementations on the straps themselves having a dedicated pocket on the straps for ear buds and an mp3 player (and the small gap that allows the wires to be threaded through) as well as a small logo strap above the earbud pocket that a cellphone holster can be attached to. All the materials for the straps are solid and distribute the load of the bag evenly without tugging on stitched points causing unnecessary wear and tear. TL;DR summary; this is the best road warrior bag you can currently buy without spending hundreds more on an all-leather bag or major luggage brand (think Tumi, Ricardo or high-end Samsonite). Tons of pockets to carry everything imaginable and lots of built in features to make traveling, whether local commuting or air travel, very simple and convenient. Would recommend to anyone that uses a backpack daily, especially in IT fields.

Almost Perfect
This is the second bag I've bought of the Renegade. The first one was thrown away yesterday after two years of continuous use. These are great bags and quality built. Tons of storage space. Two things I wish it had. Larger shoulder straps. I can't wear this bookbag because I'm wide so I single sling it over my shoulder. Not a big deal because that's how I'd carry it most of the time if it did fit. Second thing is maybe some integral molle webbing to attach things. I will be buying another whenever this one gives.

5 years in…still like new despite weekday use and abuse!
I have heavily used this bag for 5 years now and it’s going strong! No signs of major wear (high quality materials used), no tears, no issues with zippers, nothing. This bag is used for my commute to and from work as well as work and leisure trips. For work, I always have a computer, books, lunch bag, snacks, Yeti, and the just in case things like ibuprofen, cords, etc. Some days, I will alway toss in running shoes and clothes. Holds it all! With the abuse this bag has gone through, I am really surprised I haven’t lost a handle or zipper or have a tear or something. Great quality! So much space that is well designed for maximizing every inch. My favorites: protective hard pocket for sunglasses or eye glasses and the main section for storing so much stuff and keeping it well protected! My only “wish” for this bag would be a better drink holder spot.

A good functional bag, with some shortcomings
First, I'm a private investigator. I carry a laptop, tablet, bluetooth keyboard and mouse, handycam, eReader, a Roxio Game Capture Pro HD for video transfer with time/date stamps, and no less than 20 cables and chargers. In short, I carry a ton of gear at all times. For the most part, the bag is just for travel between my car and hotel or home. I don't often carry it anywhere else, but I like some organization to all my stuff. Previously, I had been using a backpack made by Dell for an Alienware that I had purchased with my daughters laptop. That bag is great, however my kid wanted it back and I figured I should be able to find something more designed around my needs. It came down to this Ogio vs a Pelican unit. The reason I picked the Ogio was that the Pelican weighs a ton (5 pounds empty) vs the Ogio at 1 pound dry weight. I already have to shoulder enough weight with all my great, not to mention that I had spinal fusion surgery less than 18 months ago. Now you know how I use it and why I picked it. As for the functionality of the bag. The sunglasses pocket at the top (that it seems no one uses for sunglasses) is a perfect protected spot for my handycam. It also makes it readily accessible for me since it is right on the top. The 4 side pockets work great for my chargers and video editing hardware. My XPS 12 fits easily in the laptop sleeve and is well protected. My Dell Essentials tablet fits fine in the tablet pocket. I even have a Nook eReader in the front as well. I have two wifi hotspots that fit perfect in the upper pocket with the two mesh pockets holding each one and it's charger. The zippers are good quality, a heavy duty feel for sure. My sole issue is that there is no real good place for USB drives, memory cars and the likes. It has 4 slots for pens/penciles, and two pockets in the front. One pocket zips closed the other is just a tight band upper. I had to put my cards and USB drives in the zippered pockets. It seems to me that they could have easily put a few of those little holders in this bag somewhere. The Dell unit had spaces for 4 cards and 4 thumb drives and they take up no real space. As for those complaining about padding.......really? Would you rather short yourself protection to save like 6 ounces of weight and gain 1/2 inch of space? I find the padding to be well designed, well placed, and very functional. The padding on the back panel that rests against your body is perfect. Just enough to keep it comfortable, not bulky, very functional. If anything, the straps could use a bit more padding. As I said, I don't carry mine a lot. It's more of an organizational tool with transport from car to room and back. For the price, it's a good bag. Add some spaces for cards and USB drives, and better utilization of some of the unused inner spaces and it would be a great bag.

Best overall travel backpack I’ve ever owned!
The quality and functionality of this backpack is amazing! I travel often for work and pleasure all over the world. I’ve had this bag for a full year and it has held up amazingly! It has served as my backpack on 4 trips to Hawaii from the east coast, 4 trips to Europe, 3 Caribbean vacations and over a dozen smaller trips. I also carry this to work every single day and use it as my gym bag. Suffice to say it has held up incredibly throughout! It is comfortable and provides plenty of organization options for anyone’s packing needs. I particularly love the small touches like the rigid eyeglass pocket on top and the strap for putting it on my spinner handle. I travel carry-on only for every work trip and vacation so that feature is a must have. After a full year of heavy use it only has a couple of minor cosmetic blemishes. Extremely impressed! The only negative (if it’s even really a negative) is that the laptop pocket is almost over engineered and eats in the the main storage compartment a bit more than I would prefer. However, your electronics are incredibly protected in there and that is clearly what Ogio was going for. All in all this is the best daily and travel backpack I have owned to date. Highly recommended!

Excellent Bag, Holds a Ton & Easily Organized
Excellent Bag, Holds a Ton & Easily Organized. I replaced. 2016 Northface Bigshot and I loved that bag but it wore out and my wife made me replace it because it got holes. I’m in technology and haul a full size MacBook Pro (newer m1 series - with a hard shell cover on it) and it fits fine in the laptop section. I also have a cable organizer bag that fits in the main compartment. A notebook and a 2 year old iPad Pro with keyboard fits fine in the tablet section. I love the organization and set up of the bad and really love the glasses hard compartment on the top. When I fly for conferences it’s very comfortable to load out as a carry on and doesn’t hear my back or make my back sweat. It also fits under the plane seat in front of me. Overall 10 out of 10 in my book. Liked it so much I naught my wife one. Great quality and job OGIO. Excellent daily commuter bag. Only opportunity for improvement is making the top entry part of the water bottle holder elastic with a draw string. I use a grayle bottle/filter for travel and it fits but it’s hard to do one handed while it’s on your back because the entry doesn’t have any give to it.

Best backpack!
I absolutely love this backpack. My previous one was going to retire (another brand) and I was dreading to see what was equivalent or better and I stumbled across this one. The OGIO brand is supreme in every way. The zippers are very high quality and I have had no issues in many different scenarios while hiking, attending trade shows, etc. Theer are so many different areas to put things which makes this my top choice for backpacks.
